Congrats to Vinton County. I heard we had 2 or 3 fouls to give. why not foul when the girl first touched the ball time would have run out or foul again if they did have time left. We should have known the situation. Good luck to Vinton in your next game.

fouling with such little time on the clock is dangerous, as the girl may catch and throw and now you have a 3 shot foul. Also not being there maybe they tried to foul and just didn't, or were not in a physical position to foul?

If you want to see how the end of the game unfolded, go up to the hardwoodheros reply on this thread and watch for yourself. You just had the feeling Vinton was gonna somehow win it and they pulled it out. Great shot by the Dixon girl for the buzzer beater. Congrats to her and the Lady Vikes.

Really they should have missed the last free throw to start the clock as soon as it was touched, and then foul the rebounder when she tried to pass the ball or tried to call timeout.

In that case you still call TO, as soon as ball is touched, still have 2 seconds on the clock and the same shot still beats you.

Watching the tape on HH, it looks like #14 of Athens is grabbing and trying to foul Dixon as she is going uup the court. All that matters though is the shot was made and it counted. Great ending to a good game.
