Parents think their kids are all-stars? What??? I can't believe it!

The good thing is North Adams doesn't have this problem too much, but I know it is a problem!!! Unbelievable, how many coaches lose their jobs because a group of parents who think their kids are the greatest players ever get together and try and force a coach out of their job! They think that if their kid isn't getting looks from Tennessee or UConn then there MUST BE something wrong with the coach!!!

Apathy and a complete lack of parental support for their kids today. Oh, I know, that is more than an issue at our school, but it is a big issue. "Parents" checking out on their kids and not even giving two kicks in the wind as to what their kids are doing, or where they are, is indicative of a much larger problem than our school's basketball program.

The "Judge" from Vinton county could elaborate on this issue ad nauseum, as he deals with it day in and day out (God Bless you Bob), and it is bad in most rural school districts, but it is a huge problem at Fed Hock and a huge problem at Vinton County.

Amen Steely Dan. Parents do not support their kids enough nowadays. Too many parents are afraid to speak up when things are not right. Too many parents are afraid their kid will be chastised if they do stand up for their kid.

Logan has problems keeping the young kids. Top 2 6th graders at Logan are looking elsewhere. They are allstars. But for some reason their parents don't want them going through Logan's program.

I know that there are too many seniors wanting to party and sneaking into bars in Huntington, WV for everyone to keep ignoring in this area. I don't know about the other areas but every time there's no games or practices the kids pile into Shenanigan's in Ironton, or the Eager Beaver and there's two other bars up in Huntington that they go to. Instead of taking the kids words that they are spending the night at a friends house, check up on them. This is a tragedy waiting to happen. Some of the parents know and think it's funny and they're just being kids. Well, how about somebody doing something to step forward and actually doing something about it.

OG - That was good. I know, you were being facetious, and justifiably so. You folks run a good program, ignore the haters.

Maybe if they used a little more humility maybe the haters would be less and less. Some people I talk too about Oak Hill say it's not so much about the quote un quote recruiting, but just the overall cockiness in the way they come off is what turns people the wrong way on them.Good program though..

Captain - I certainly agree, boastfulness and arrogance, in large doses can be very difficult to swallow. And yes, these characteristics breed hatred towards their fans. Their coach and their program are a nice program, I must agree.
