Yes Morrow and company will be doing the game on 96.7, just heard a promo for it driving to work this morning...I92, is this going to be Jackson's first test of the season I take from reading some of the other threads?

Lol, that $2 bucks nets us approximately $60k per year from what I understand and goes a long way in helping us keep from being pay to play...the students thank you all for the contributions...and the understanding. Having worked the "gate" I have been on the receiving end of numerous tongue lashings from visiting schools lol.

This will be a test for both teams. I look for poe to really step it up tonight and really get on the boards. She will be crucial for a Jackson win with Eastern not having much size. Stopping Burdette will not be an easy task.

Eastern has 2 6 footers and 4 pretty tall guards

This game will hope both teams get to where they want to go. It's a great matchup. Jackson was fairly comfortable winning at EM last year but Kari Jenkins couldn't miss going for 24 points.

Jackson will need a good game from at least 4 of their top 6 players....if not I see Eastern winning.


Both teams have several goals way before this game I would imagine.

The $2.00 parking is almost worth seeing Poe and Swatzel battle underneath ... I should have grabbed 4 rolls of pennies and headed over to J-Town!

Another little tidbit.

Eastern only has 84 girls 9-12th grades and is a pretty small D4 school. But the group of girl athletes throughout their sports the past several years is beyond impressive. The SE D4 district for girls isn't loaded with great teams in any sport but Eastern has just dominated for several years.

Volleyball? They've lived in the regionals...might've made the Final 4 a couple years ago.

Cross Country? They dominate every other team in the district (including mine)...they are THE team. They typically just miss making state but individual runners do almost every year.

Basketball? I'm not sure they've won a district semi by less than 30 points or district final convincingly in 5 years....seems like they've made the regionals about 10 years in a row. Final 4 is a good guess for them.

Track and Field? Have built one of the top teams in the district every year. Runners and representatives in most regional events and have several competing for state each year and some make it to the state level.

Every season their girls and teams are the best of the best in the entire district but also at the regional level.

With only 84 girls have regional qualifying teams in every season across 4 different sports....I find this extremely impressive.
