Gallia Academy soccer ... what I know ...

Mike Dyer is back as head coach with assistant Josh Simmons (Ohio Valley Christian grad who played college ball at Cedarville and Rio Grande).
Mike has done a good job with this program. This is his third year as head coach. He's a good student and teacher of the game.
Should have a good group of seniors and some nice young talent.
GK Allie Troester (Sr.) will play soccer in college, possibly D-1. Allie's a good bball player, too. Strong, athletic, good leader.
Senior field players: Zeke Maher, Corey Eberhard, Josh Jackson, Jeremy Ward -- good core group.

Here's the Gallia Academy sked, taken from the Gallipolis City Schools website.
Nice 7-match home stand followed by the road trip from the dark side to wrap up the regular season.

Yes. That will be a great day for GAHS at Crew Stadium. The ball got rolling on that early in 2008, but it wasn't approved by the AD last year. AD approved it for this season. I haven't heard who GAHS will be playing yet.
My family will be there. We're looking forward to it.

The Crew contacts high schools across the state to invite them to participate in these games. It's a marketing tool for the Crew.
The Crew's Southern Ohio/WVa rep I talked to about this program last year told me they're just trying to boost interest and ticket sales in our area.
If they pick up 100-200 or so folks from this area, it's a bonus.
Each high school team sells tickets in its local area. Tickets are good for the high school match and the Crew game following.

It's gallia and alexander that will play
each team is on the hook for selling min of 250 tix (players are included in that 250).
I'm sure there are tickets still available on both sides. I can get you contact info for one side (well it's me actually) if you are interested in attending.
