Near the end of a scrimmage between Chillicothe and Zane Trace, the Chillicothe goalie ventures out in the 18 yard box to contest a shot and the zt player gets the shot past the goalie. As the ball is headed into the net a defender stops the ball and attempts to clear it. The ball is kicked on the ground and the goalie falls on the ball.

A whitsle was blown. What was the correct call?

The officials after conducting an official conference decided that it was a no call and awarded chillicothe a goal kick.

any thoughts

Unless the player was trying to kick it to the goalie, it should be a no call. If the ref determines the kick was deliberately shot towards the goalie its an indirect kick for the attacking team.

It should not have been a goal kick. It should have been an indirect kick for Chillicothe. Probably from the 6-yard line or point of play when it was stopped whichever is further from the goal. Does not sound like an illegal handling but rather an inadvertant stoppage.
