Valley travels to the Burg tonight. I look for this one to be a good game. I'm not sure the last time valley beat the burg in soccer, but this might be the year.

Valley is undefeated right now. Big wins over Clay, Eastern, Piketon, Cheseapeake, Northwest, and a tie vs. South Webster.

Not sure why they cancelled on Saturday vs. Unioto, but they are on a roll

Battle of the punt and run. I say Burg has this one 3-1 Valley gets a taste of thier own medicine tonight.

i have to agree with B1, burgs defence tends to sit back. especially against direct play. with valley being a counter attack team, the pirates will be ready. i think burg can hold winters one. but valley will have no answer for thurmer. 3-1 burg. maybe 4-2.

I'll take valley on this on based on the back lines. I think burg is fielding a shorter and slower back line than prev years
But it will be back and forth and very well could go either way. Turf field is neutral here so valley 3-1

I would like to watch this game because I think it will be a good one.

I'm guessing Wheelersburg 4-3 with hat tricks for both Winters & Thurmer

ed miller is a very difficult place to play. the atmosphere and lights always seem to throw off the visiting team. burg is playing to well this year to take this match lightly. valley 4 burg 2.

This should be an exciting game to watch. Both teams can be very explosive at times. I'll call a draw in this one. 2-2.

the indians are no match for the the Pirates. Burg 5 - Valley 2. Burg is the Word!

I heard that Thurmer was injured. Was it a rough game?

from what i hear it was pretty chippy. mainly from the valley end. did thurmer really not play at all in the second half?

He returned to the stadium on crutches during the 2nd half after visiting urgent care.

Maybe lightly chippy, nothing extreme for a SOC battle. Thumer was injured(knee, mcl?) on a fair tackle before half. Hope he makes a speedy recovery. He is a great hard nosed player who was missed in burg's attack. Valley did well to capitalize on counter attack to pull out tough victory

Game changed after the injury. Hopefully he'll be back to health soon.
