Four girls sectional finals tomorrow, 3 of which in the western side of our area.

600 Peebles @ Lynchburg Clay
4:00 Leesburg @ North Adams
4:00 Wheelersburg @ Ironton St Joe (game is being played at Burg due to field conditions, but St Joe will wear home whites as the higher seed)
12:00 Minford @ Eastern Brown

All of the winners will move on to district play Tuesday (at Athens?).

The way the SEODAB website reads, the 3rd round is still sectional play, so these games are actually sectional semi finals?

This is copied from the SEODAB website "Division 3 Sectional – Tuesday, October 14; Saturday, October 18; Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Two winners from one sectional will advance to the district finals", so apparently there is no district semifinals and the higher seeded winners Saturday will have home field advantage again on Tuesday. Although the OHSAA brackets show the games Tuesday as District Semi Finals. I am confused.

We ran into this same question last year.

They cleared up the issue at a SE DIstrict Athletic Directors meeting; In Division III GIrls Soccer, There are three rounds in Sectional play. Sectional Finals are Tuesday 10/21. The Sectional Finals can also be considered a District Semi-final game.

The Two Sectional Champions will move onto a District Final Game against Sectional Champions from the East District.

So, There are three rounds in sectional play, but only one round at the District level.

Hopefully that is clear as mud!

I think that's how it technically is in the SW for their sports. Seems like unnecessary confusion.

Who won the Eastern Brown-Minford game?

Just found out Eastern won. I did not get a score.

Gosh, hope we don't have to travel all the way to Eastern for a "home" game.

Maybe they can ask someplace like Wheelersburg to host them again...

I'd help clean their bleachers.

The sectional finals matchups will be:
North Adams @ Lynchburg Clay
Eastern Brown @ Ironton St Joe

Winners will advance to the district finals. The North Adams game winner will face off against either Zanesville West Muskingum or Coshocton and the Eastern Brown Winner will face off against either Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans or Stubenville Catholic Central. Good luck to the SE District teams who advance!
