Now that all of the dust has settled and several great seasons were had in southeastern Ohio. Who will be some of the teams to watch in 2009?

I think 2008 will be the last year for RV. South Point will take the OVC in 2009. What about South Gallia. Did they lose much?

In the SVC, Adena, Huntington, Westfall, maybe Southeastern (returning alot, improve every year and now have several playing club)
SOC II, Wheelersburg, Valley and Waverly returning alot of talent. Maybe S. Webster (dist. champs)
SOC I, Eastern Pike (dist. champs) returning everyone.........
Jackson was strong last year but I'm not sure how many strong seniors they lost
Of course, Alexander (state champs) strong program every year
South Gallia had some very athletic talent, but again, not sure what they lost to graduation
Can't wait for volleyball season to get here........

SG loses four seniors. Only one senior saw significant playing time or started.
Other starters last season:
1 Junior Middle(plays club)
1 Junior Middle/OH(plays club)
1 Junior 2# Setter
1 Soph 1# Setter(plays club)
1 Frosh Opposite(plays club)
Currently 13 girls (the four above included) who will trying out for SG team in August are playing club ball this season.
Eastern Beaver will be the top Div IV. team in the area.

Mmm, He can't win with no talent...very few coaches can.
But--Marietta still has lots of quality girls coming out, they played great at the end of the year last year, I'd be very afraid of them in 2009 (and kidder is a good coach).

Flame me if you want but I don't see Marietta being as good as they were at the end of last season.

bubbles, we all know your a big warren fan so maybe you can answer this question for me. I saw coach kidder at the girls game last night, and by your statement above could you be saying he might be coming back to warren to coach?

To be honest I dont think anyone would want him back after the way he left.

yes, i am a warren volleyball fan! coach kidder has not confided to me about his next season. my guess he will have as good of a season as possible, wherever he is. he lost a lot of talented seniors at marietta. he has talented kids coming up and he knows how to coach them to the best of their abilities. i wish his team well wherever he is at, i just wish our lady warriors better!!! coach kidder left because he wanted to be in marietta, much closer to his home. we all have to make grown up decisions about our jobs, leave his alone. i wished he could coach my other daughter but i am not moving anytime soon.....

I don't agree that Kidder lost alot of seniors. Wasn't there only one or two seniors on the team? What he has coming back and the girls coming up more than compensate for anyone he lost to graduation.

Kidder left the Warren sports scene with a nice taste in our mouths.
That said, we all wish Marietta well, as long as they go 0-for in games played against us.
Whether he lost two or six seniors, Kidder will have a strong team at the end of the season. He won five consecutive league titles at one point, he knows how to finish well.
The Lady Warriors will be just fine...Katie Fisher is one heck of a volleyball player, and Bailey Poage, Madison Stauffer, and Emily Foy are not far behind at all. And one can't forget the sophomore-stud-to-be, Kasey White.
