Just wanted to make people aware of this during the Saturday of the Apple Festival in Jackson

Ironladies’ Volley for the Cure set

The Jackson Ironladies volleyball support group will be holding its second annual Volley for the Cure event on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Jackson High School gymnasium.

The event will be held in conjunction with the annual Apple Bowl Tournament, which will include the Wellston, Oak Hill, Vinton County and host Jackson volleyball teams.

This year’s event is sponsored by GEIGER BROTHERS, TIME-WARNER CABLE, THE KITCHEN COLLECTION, LE GOURMET CHEF of Chillicothe, DR. TEDNICHTING and the JACKSON VOLLEYBALL SUPPORT GROUP.

A raffle will be held for the following items: APPLE LAPTOP COMPUTER; 10-PIECE COOKWARE SET; CHICAGO CUTLERY SET WITH BLOCK; EMERIL BAGUETTE BREAD MAKER; MAGIC CHEF 6-BOTTLE WINE COOLER; GEORGE FOREMAN GRILL; EURO-PRO STAINLESS STEEL CONVECTION OVEN; BLACK & DECKER COFFEE MAKER; 4-PIECE AMERICAN FLYER LUGGAGE SET; OSU COASTER SET; $100 GOLF GALAXY GIFT CARD and more.

Raffle tickets cost $1 apiece or six for $5, and can be purchased from any Jackson Junior High or High School volleyball player or coach.

They can also be purchased at the JHS gym on the day of the event, and you need not be present to win.

A volleyball serving game will also take place.

Featured items to be given away during this game include an I-Touch, a pink I-Pod and CASH prizes.

The Ironladies are participating in Volley for the Cure to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation and to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

This is the second straight year for the Volley for the Cure event at Jackson High School.

The event is a follow-up from the Jackson County Relay for Life, in which the Ironladies participated in and raised over $2,800.

For more than 25 years, Komen for the Cure has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer, including transforming how the world talks about and treats this disease and helping to turn millions of breast-cancer patients into breast-cancer survivors.

Please join the Ironladies volleyball program in the fight for a cure by attending our Volley for the Cure event.
