PHS AD Joe Albrecht has told the Daily Times that the SOC chose not to accept the two schools. More information will be available as it comes out.

This has to come from the smaller schools because Wheelersburg, West, Minford, Waverly, Valley, and Northwest all play the Trojans in some sports. I really thought the Trojans would get in this time around.

It's crap. Why not let PHS in? It would just be better for the league, less travel=less money.

Why don't "the bigger" schools pull out of the SOC and form their own league???

Why would Wheelersburg, Minford, West, Valley or Northwest have to allow their future in a league depend on East, Clay, New Boston, etc????

Just doesn't make since . The schools don't play each other for league games anyway!

Can anyone explain why a silent vote was necessary? I'm interested how different schools voted. I understand not allowing South Gallia in the league, that is a long trip that most SOC schools don't want to make if they don't have to. However, Portsmouth is everyone's neighbor. The article in the paper stated that the SOC was happy the way things were and didn't want to expand, but bringing Portsmouth in wouldn't be calling for a whole lot of expanding. Would it???

I'd love to see the PDT follow up with this story a little more and get some reactions from SOC schools as to why they voted a certain way.

PDT, don't let this story die. I'm sure the people of Scioto County would love to hear more details, or explanation as to why at least Portsmouth wasn't allowed in. There is alot more information out there.
