Batting Cages

Post by SciotoCoyote »

Where are some batting cages in the Portsmouth area/Scioto county?

Are they any good and in good condition? thanks

The only one I know of is in Franklin Furnace, behind the Giovannis.

You have to walk into the Giovannis to purchase tokens, then use them in the cages.

The balls are so dirty, then can barely be seen coming out of the machine. I took my daughter there yesterday and spent $15 in 30 minutes and had a terrible time picking the ball up because they are almost a brown color.

But at least we have someplace to go I guess.

I remember S&S Batting Cages in Lucasville. That place was great. Too bad they are not open anymore.

As far as I know that is the only ones in the area and I have heard the same thing Bleeding Red said about the balls being hard to see because they are so dirty. I really liked the ones they had at the Armory in Portsmouth up by Rainbow Lanes back about 8 years ago. I used to take my son down there all the time. It's a shame something like that can't stay open very long in our area.
