This would be exciting for the Belpre area. I remember some good Belpre Legion teams. Nice to see the tradition renewed. American Legion is a great baseball experience.
Re: Belpre Legion Baseball
I think this would be good and bad because I think they would be strong but it would hurt Beverly lowell because they will lose a couple Belpre kids and others

I know a couple of Belpre kids will be lost. Only know of one other that may leave B/L. Have you heard of enough interest to field a full team? Just wondering.
Re: Belpre Legion Baseball
I think there is plenty of talent in Washington county to form two Legion teams this is one reason why it is being reformed in Belpre. Not just for Belpre kids but there are others with alot of talent that have been overlooked or not accepted for some odd reasons.
Now the thing is Legion rules if someone is playing for another Legion team they have to ask for a release. That is my understanding. However, it would look really bad if for example a Belpre kid wanted to play for the Belpre Legion team and not be released from the prior Legion team he played on a year before.
I really don't think the Beverly coach would do that because he has class and is a good person. But there is always that issue.

Actually, I think anytime a new team is formed, an existing legion player has the option of continuing with his existing team or moving to the new team if the new team/post is closer to his residence. No release should be necessary...

I thought that but I wanted to be absolute before I spout off anything...lol

Not if the new team is closer to your residence. The player has the option of staying on his former team or moving closer to home.

Funny you should say that. Marietta tried to get that too happen, but Jack Hill put a stop to it! Good luck Belpre Legion, I wish you success! Now if a kid lives in Marietta, and according to Legion rules, he goes to the closest base school, Let's see, Fort Frye or Belpre? This could get real interesting.

How is the Belpre Legion Team looking? Who all made the team and from what areas?
