I have had to take a few days to compose myself before I could post something about last weeks game in Columbus. This season has been an emotional ride for dad because I knew it was the last high school season for the Bama household. Mom and I will no longer be an official part of a high school team again and in a way that is very sad for us.

The young men on the Burg team(s) have been a part of our lives since our children started playing organized sports back in T-ball. We, like so many of you, not only know the kids well but we also have formed friendships with the families of the players. Those little boys have turned into fine young men and the families are special to us.

We have ALL helped out wherever we could thorugh the years by taking kids to and from many practices, games, camps, team meals, swim parties, cookouts, coaching, throwing bp, hitting ground balls, catching in the bullpen, long away trips and just hanging out at someones house. It has been worth every second and dollar that was invested! I am sure many of you can relate very well.

If I could, we'd do it all over again in a second with the same cast of characters that have crossed mine and Mrs. Bama's path. We can't go back and play the games over but we CAN and WILL cherish the memories.

Thanks to all of you for the kind words of support, it is much appreicated.

Bama, we have great kids here at Wheelersburg because they have great parents that do for their children the things that you mention. We as coaches do work hard, but may also have it easier than anyone else around because of the support that parents give to their children, to us and the program. We are very fortunate to coach the kids that are raised by the parents of this community. I love this group and will greatly miss them next season.
