Congrats to all that were selected...quite an accomplishment. Looks like a lot of players to get into the game. Wouldn't want that headache.

Here is the information on the baseball all-district. I thought I had put it on last night.
I do not have any softball info yet....still checking on it.

Top high school baseball players from the Southeast District have been announced. The selections were made by members of the district’s baseball coaches association.

Those named to first-team berths will be eligible to participate in an all-district series which is set for Monday at Veterans Administration field in Chillicothe. The field, which has an all-turf surface, is the home of the Chillicothe Paints of the Frontier League and is also used for some high school games including district and regional contests.

Two nine-inning games are set with players from Divisions II and IVI squaring off against each other at 1 p.m. followed by a contest between players from Divisions I and IIII. The games are on a North-South basis.

In the past, the games have often been played in May and underclassmen could not participate but since it is being delayed until June all first-team selections will be eligible.

In addition to the all-star games, there will be a Showcase beginning at 11 a.m. in which any players from both first and second teams can participate. Some honorable mention selections were also made and they will receive certificates.

Coaches for the Division I-III game will be Ron Allen of Zane Trace and Rocky Brunty of Federal Hocking (both are Division III schools) from the North and Michael Estep of Wheelersburg (Division III) for the South. Division II-IV coaches are Troy Montgomery of Washington Court House (Division II) and Ryan Lemley of Racine Southern (Division IV) from the North and Lance Ralston of Jackson (Division II) and Chad Renfro of Symmes Valley (Division IV) from the South.

Cangrads to all the boys who made the team. Bengalsfan76 2nd teams all soc hm all district my guess would be the coaching staff didn't feel he was good enough.I guess beating Waverly,Minford,Zane Trace,Valley,Wellston,Federal Hocking, and 3 tourny teams doesn't make for a good season. Good luck to everybody on Monday have a great time. And to all of you seniors good luck in your college baseball experience remember you get back what you put in, work hard on the feild and in the classroom it goes fast.

That should be Adam Wamsley, not Alex. Alex is Adams older brother and I think he graduated two years ago. I also don't understand how Russell is left off of the 1st team. Probably the best pitcher in the southeast district. What a crock!!!

Wow, no one from North Adams made it. I thought they should have had a couple of kids that would have made it.

Jordan Russell may have had the most successfull h.s. pitching career of anyone to wear a Pirate uniform. It's hard to beat a 27 or 28 win career compared to only 2 defeats. And those 2 defeats were on a pretty big stage to some great teams.

I agree that Jordan Russell should have gotten first team! He got his team where they were. I realize it takes team effort but come on, they have to win the games to be able to have the opportunity to play these big games. Jordan has done so well so often in the past four years. I also am surprised that Daniel Armstrong wasnt chosen. A catcher, like a pitcher, controls the game and the pace. Daniel has done his duty and done it well!!! I blame the coaches who have to market their boys and rally behind them to get other coaches to vote for their boys and earn recognition.

You two young men are stars in my book.

I can't say enough about Daniel Armstrong behind the plate either. He controlled the game this year by setting up hitters and giving his pitchers confidence to throw breaking stuff in the dirt. He just done an outstanding job. A catcher never gets the praise he deserves in the papers, but "D's" efforts were noted by his team, coaches and fans. Again, I just can't say enough.

This time of year is tough. Although there are many guys that deserve some post season honors, it is a numbers game at times and there are those that get left out. It's not right, but there are others that would say it's not right that one team gets a large number named but another team gets nobody. Even in MLB, every team gets atleast one member on the All Star game roster.
