Ted Tom, Chris Moore and the SSU Bears picked up some major talent, not just around southeastern Ohio, but from all over. The SSU Bears will soon return to the way they were in the late 90's. It's hard to believe that such a powerhouse back then fell off so bad. They have an excellent, dedicated staff to get them back. GO BEARS!!!

The difference is these coaches are more visible and involved in the h.s. games then Bergan ever was. If a coach would recruit SE ohio and bring in other good players from around the area a Rio or Shawnee can succeed.

bengalfan, Daniel will be attending Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tn. He is planning on playing baseball but they do not offer athletic scholarships.

We visited Cedarville last Monday and were very impressed with the facilities and the school. Coach Manes (man us) was very nice and straight forward. He said, "I do not offer freshman money unless they are a 6'5" lefty and throw 90 mph." Daniel would have had to make the team this fall and then some money would follow after his freshman year. I would have loved for him to attend Cedarville but it didnt work out.

Daniel Armstrong will continue to excell behind the plate at the college level. I have no doubt that Daniel would have been able to compete in the AMC with Cedarville but it sounds like he made the best decision for him. There's nothing quite like college baseball, Im sure he will love it. Good Luck D, I wish you the best in all you do.

Cedarville must not be giving out any money then. Cedarville is a great place with great facilities, but they are not very good!! Maybe he needs to give some money to some 6'0 righties that throw 85 mph. :12223

Andrew Davis (Zane Trace) will be playing in the South Atlantic League Championship series next week. He plays for Augusta and they will play either West Virginia or Lake County. Davis started four years at Kent State after an All-Ohio career at Zane Trace and played for the Northwest League champion last summer in Salem-Keiser, Oregon. He was drafted by the Giants in the 12th Round in 2007. Davis had a big two-run double on Friday night to put Augusta into the championship series.
