Understand the Fairland at Gallipolis game has been called off because Fairland has a league makeup game.

Jottings.....Check out wkkj.com anytime for all scores Chillicothe area. But yes, Chillicothe won 2-1 over Portsmouth today says wkkj.com.

In an SEOAL makeup matchup, Jackson beat Ironton 9-2 on Tuesday at Jackson. Jackson now 2-6 in the SEOAL South with both wins over Ironton. So the Ironmen have at least that tiebreaker if it factors in over Ironton.

The Ironmen host Gallia Academy on Wednesday in the completion of a suspended game in the top of the 10th inning and then the regularly-scheduled game to follow. The suspended game is tied 5-5 following nine innings.

They are starting at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Coach Rolston told me, with the suspended game.

Athens-Marietta at Pioneer Park was rained out in the bottom of the 1st. Athens up 2-0. Too wet to continue. Coach Brewer and his assistant coaches did everything in their power to get the game played. Great facility!

Wellston defeated Belpre at Belpre 7-3. The Rockets are now 11-4 on the season, and in sole possesion of 2nd place behind Athens.

Wellston beat Belpre both times this season by identical 7-3 scores.

While Athens is assured of at least a share of the TVC-Ohio division, Wellston can still win out and claim a share, but only if Athens loses its last three, which are a suspended game and regular game against Alexander on Thursday and against Wellston on May 6.

One more win out of three games, regardless of what the Golden Rockets do, will gave Athens the outright division championship in its first year in the TVC.

Thus, the Rockets are twice the Alexander Spartan fans on Thursday. But Alexander has won two straight in the league, including Wellston on Monday and at Meigs today.

If Athens goes undefeated in the division, second place in this league this year isn't bad at all.
