Burg returns a number amount of starters from last years State Champion team and plenty of youth guys that can step right in and fill the open spots. High expectations for this Pirate team this season! Thoughts??

Thats assuming both teams would meet in tournaments and farmer would be available to pitch that game. I think the better question would be if Piketon would be able to get past Wheelersburg's #1 or #2 starter, both who will likely be better than they were last year and they were pretty darn good last year. I would almost bet that Burg will be back in the Final four this spring.

Either way I still feel that Burg is the team to beat.

Definitely the team to beat in the SE and in the State. Great coaching with great pitching and great defense makes them a very tough team to beat. Toss in the fact that they rake at the plate and it's just a fun team to watch.

I've got my eye on a couple of SVC schools that can push them, but for now, Burg has to be the favorite.

Season is getting closer! Tough schedule should be another great year for the Pirates!!

Clearly it is Wheelersburg's to lose and I think they get to final 4. After that it just depends on how the pitching shakes out not necessarily for Burg but for whoever their opponent is. How did their opponent get there, did they have to throw their #1/#2, etc., baseball harder to predict I think when it gets to the last 8 or so teams left.

Piketon respects all openents...but fears none. They will give Wheelersburg a little more this year. Maybe even more than they want...

Thoughts on the the upcoming season??

don't think anyone can compete day in and out with rotation pirates will have. if staff stays healthy should return to columbus.

Pirates will dominate, but it only takes one game in tourney and u r done!

I just saw the schedule for the first time. Really some tough games on there!

How did they fair against Gallia Academy in saturday's scrimmage?

Burg won 9-4. Both teams look to be very strong this year!
