Athens was 20-33 at the FT line and Morgan was 12 of 20. Athens had 12 2 point goals and 8 treys including 4 by Matt Witten and two each by Colin Pfaff and Cori Butcher. Morgan had 18 two point baskets and 6 treys. Cameron Sayers and Ted Vynalek had two and Joel Fox and Bentley Buchanan had one apiece. Both teams had 18 TO's. Unofficially, Athens was 20 of 53 for 38%. Morgan was 24 for 55 for 44%.

Can I get a recap of who we've actually beat this year? This is all I can come up with.

Jackson x2
Nelsonville
Morgan
Meigs
Wellston

ok so we've won 8 games and not one is over a quality opponent. I don't think any of them even have a winning record do they?

Honestly though, Is there anybody besides Alex, VC, in TVC Ohio with a winning record? As far as non league maybe West M might be the only one with a winning record that AThens played.
Did beat former SEOAL rivals Jackson, GA, and lost to Logan ( all 3 having down years)
The JV game really surprised me. The ease with which our Spartans defeated Athens was ridiculous, considering that group of AThens sophmores have been successful over Alex in the past and that was with Lawson and Chapman.

Spartan, Alexander has improved a great deal over last year. The Spartans have had a nice growth spurt, Hart has become a beast around the board, and the addition of Wes Meadows made them that much better. Having to play without Germano for two quarters because of the need for him at the varsity level has hurt the Bulldogs when they play a tall team. Harris has had the flu, Maffin has a dislocated index finger on his shooting hand, a sore thumb on his left hand and broncitis. No excuses, just facts. Besides the Spartans have a very nice team. Chappie and Cody did not play against the Bulldogs during their 9th grade year. Also the addition of the freshmen to the squad has thrown off some of the cohesiveness of the team, but these freshmen are going to be very good if they continue to grow. We look forward to the rivalry in all the sports. These kids play legion baseball together and seem to like each other. We will continue to get better. Looking forward to seeing all my friends at the ballfield.

Those definitely are some factors. Hart has improved a lot and the jr.'s Meadows and Malone have really helped.

Hope the Bulldogs get healed up for the last week of the season. That flu stuff was nasty stuff.
