Steely Dan, I see what you're saying about Wynford playing four D VI schools, but on that same token they did play and beat a DIII team in River Valley that made the playoffs. So I have a hard time picking against them. Just sayin'.
Wynford has bounced between D5 and D6 the past few state counts. They hold the states longest current regular season wins streak winning 58 in a row. Their last loss came in week 2 of the 2006 season.
Impressive no matter who you play
Definitely impressive. They've also had some success in the playoffs during their 6 consecutive playoff appearances (7 counting this year). During this 7 year span, the Royals have only lossed 1 regular season game (69-1 record) and have an overall record of 74-7, including 5-6 in the playoffs with two Regional Championship appearances. They also lost to two eventual state champions during the playoffs in the last 7 years.

If I had to give an edge to a team based on playoff experience in that 1 vs 8 match-up, I'd give it to Wynford. They lost in the first round last year, but just two years ago, they were the Regional Runner-up in Region 21, losing by 7 to eventual D-6 State Champion Norwalk St Paul.

Thanks JW. My impressions were based on a very quick analysis, and obviously, I didn't spend any time chasing down Wynford's history. I knew nothing about them, as up until this year, they were in Region 17, correct? I've spent no energy worrying about any teams in region 17 over the last six or seven years, because of Youngstown University. Of course, my alma mater got transplanted from Region 19 to Region 17 this year, because of all the whining out of the Wayne County league getting their heads bashed in by Youngstown U in the post season, so now I worry!

I'll stick with my prediction, and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Can't say too many other people spent the time I did to do some analysis and share their thoughts. They'd just rather throw darts at the few of us who did!!!!!! Bunch of slackers.

Steely Dan,

No problem 8) I had knee surgery following a pretty bad accident 3 weeks ago and I'm still not allowed to do anything (including physical therapy, as the wound isn't all the way closed yet), so I've got plenty of time on my hands to become a 6'7" dart target

3 of 4 right....

Valley vs Crestview

Still sticking with an ALL SOC Regional title game.

I had about as much luck with my picks as I do the lottery...

The Crestview win was the big surprise for me.

I will be pulling for West and Valley this week.

Should be two great semifinal games.
