Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
Jeff Lisath was officially offered the Portsmouth job yesterday.......it's now his decision to stay at Piketon or come home to coach the TROJANS.........
I would say that he will have a few days to think it over.........not only can Jeff turn our program around, he can lead us to the top of the mountain once again!!
If Jeff turns it down, I will be more than happy to support Eugene Collins.........

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
Dave...I as many other trojan alumni am happy that the job was offered to Jeff. I believe he can right the ship so to speak.
I would love to see Jeff offer the assistants position to Eugene, because I think the two of them would be a great combination for our program. Don't know if Eugene would be interested in this position though.
If Jeff would turn down the offer I to would support Eugene.
However just let me add this in case Jeff does accept the postion.
WELCOME HOME JEFF LISATH !! GO TROJANS !!

Twenty-four hours is long enough. Jeff knows he's been on the list since Josh left. If not Jeff..let's get behind Eugene. However, the thought of Jeff"Lice" and Eugene together on the varsity staff would be dynamic.

I've known Jeff and Eugene for years. What a "Dream Team" that would be.

Don't think it will happen....Jeff also had a meeting with Piketon Administration and said he would like to see Eugene Collins get the job at Portsmouth. Also, stated that he doesnt know if he will be coaching at all next season. So I guess we will see.

Jeff or Eugene.......let's get the thing settled......either way, I'm happy and looking forward to next year's hardwood version of the Red and Blue..........

I agree trojandave, it's time to start thinking of summer ball and open gyms.
I'll be making the 600 mile trek several times in support of the "Men of Troy".

from what I am hearing, it wil be Jeff, OR Eugene, if that is the case, we are in pretty good hands either way I think.

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
Curious --Jeff could have had the job anytime in the past few years as Portsmouth has had quite a carousel of coach's. Why would he take it now ? The loaded class was this past year . Why would he change schools now as opposed to years past ? sorry if this has already been discussed. MD

in the past Jeff wanted it, or was at least interested "from what I have been told", but he was not a teacher, and that is why he was never offered the job.
I understand now, with the new superintendent, things are diferent.

Re: whats happened to the PHS thread
Finally the unofficial will become official on Thursday night..........very excited to have Jeff back in Portsmouth as the coach of the Trojans!!!
I just hope that Trojan fans don't expect a miraculous turnaround next year......we lost 6 seniors, in addition to 2 other players that were scheduled to return........what we have returning is a whole bunch of players with very little varsity experience........right now, Forrest Johnson is the most veteran of the returnees.....I see FJ possibly approaching 17-18 PPG next year with some games over 20 points.
When I talked to Jeff a couple of weeks ago, I told him that I honestly felt he would struggle his first year........but this is May, and he is Jeff Lisath.......come December, perhaps Jeff can mold this group into a respectable basketball team........
GO TROJANS!!!

I started the thread and asked for it to be removed.
The staff was kind enough to remove it for me.
