bengalfan76,

Sorry, but the last couple of years we played well at home and struggled on the road (other than neutral sites). So, I'm trying to do creative things this year to correct that problem. Traveling in the pre-season will give me a chance to examine our approach to away games. It may or may not help, but it's better to do something, rather than just sitting back and accepting it.

LOL just read through the "transfer NO transfer" drama of the summer at PHS ... Coach Lisath & Co.? no worries! Legg is one of IF not THE premier PG in Southern Ohio imo ... add to the list Vulgamore, Brush and Southworth ... not much to complain about as far as I can see ... obviously the nightly offense that Smith/Brabson graduated will be an issue BUT one thing that ALL teams that make a run into the post season come away with - ALL players that return understand the importance of playing defense - that defense DOES in fact dictate the outcome of any game - the TEAMS who play defense ARE the TEAMS that advance, ARE the TEAMS that can play with anyone ... Legg & Co will not have to be sold on defense - they have seen it first hand ... players who have been to the show, a coach who has been to the show, fans who want to return to the show - everyone is on the same page with the same goals and the same game plan for getting there ... Coach Lisath's boyz will be just fine for 09-10 ...

I edited the Piketon Road to Final Four DVD...it's a really nice piece, and you'll love the "One Shining Moment" montage on it. I've made hundreds of videos over the years, and I think it's one of my best.

Thanks pfloyd for the encouraging words. I think some people will be suprised at the offense that the Streaks should put up this year and i will agree that the defensive pressure they will bring this year should be relentless. That said we have to bring our A game every time because every team we play this year will bring theirs, and that should make for a great season of basketball .I cant wait to smell the popcorn and hear the sneakers squeaking on the floor.LETS GO STREAKS!!!!!!!!!!

... are the Streaks ready for their first of many "pre-season road trips"? Legg & Co. are at Western Brown (I believe - Coach Kelley/Coach Lisath correct if I'm wrong) taking on Western Brown/Franklin and Cinn. McNicolas this Saturday ...

... let us know how things look in the early going ...

Streaks go 2-4 @ Western Brown, I'm told Coach Lisath played the non starters for 4 quarters and they lost two quarters by one point at the buzzer!

Streaks play well @South Point last night. I'm told the Streaks take a talented Huntington Prep team down to the wire in three quarters and go 2-1 vs. South Point. Huntington Prep has several D1 College prospects and 30 game schedule that includes Columbus Northland and Oak Hill Academy.

... Jimmy the Greek - thanks for keeping us informed about the Streaks in the early going of all of those "road trip scrimmages" ... sounds like the boyz are figuring out what their roles are ... always a learning process to see how all of the PARTS fit to make TEAM ... PHS lost their 2 leading scorers to graduation - the TEAM is looking to find out who the NEW "go to " guys are, who wants the ball in their hands at crunch time ... looking forward to seeing the 2009-10 version of the Streaks ...

Streaks did play well against Huntington Prep; actually had a chance to win both quarters against the VERY talented group of D-1 talent. We were actually informed that all 12 players on their squad had D-1 offers; we know there were 3 D-1 colleges in attendance for the scrimmage, if that tells you anything. They had one player who just moved in from Baltimore, Maryland who some rank as the #4 player in the nation! South Point played well against us, as well; give Coach Barnes a lot of credit at South Point. He will definitely have that squad rolling mid season once everyone is back.

The streaks are still trying to figure some things out, which is normal this time of year. It doesn't matter any way you slice it, losing 2-1000pt. scorers are big shoes to fill. However, I am confident we have the group to do it. This years group is a very talented, hard nosed group of winners. If we get the effort we showed against Huntington Prep, we will be just fine. I like the fact that we didn't back down. Nice scrimmage this weekend for us against Portsmouth and Belpre. Going to be a fun year for the Redstreak Nation!

Streaks travel to Harvest Prep Saturday after Friday Nights dress rehearsal (SVC Preview). Then finish the pre-season vs. Chillicothe at Piketon on Tuesday Night. Tough pre-season schedule to prepare for a tough regular season schedule.

That is crazy...I've never heard of 12 D1 prospects on 1 team.I am not doubting you at all. That is just rare and very impressive and if true, and Piketon played with them, the rest of the SVC will be in trouble.

I hear there was a fist fight at practice that resulted in the police getting involved?

I agree. Why would anything in practice need to involve the police? Can't the coach handle such issues?

Let's not get carried away...first of all there was no "fight" one push vs. one punch . Second: My coaching staff or I will never ask a person to leave the gym more than once. It was a minor incident that was dealt with immediately, no need to speculate...it's over and we have moved on...we are focused on our season opener.
