RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!! (for only the 3rd time this month)

Pirates 9 Brewers 5

Bucco hitters slam 3 homers. Hart pitches decent enough through 6 to get the win.

Bucs record for the month on August now 3-12.

Lets hope the Bucs win tomorrow and take the sweep of this short 2 game series.

I'm pretty sure that's a three games series with the Brewers but I will check to be sure...

Olendorf looked very good again tonight.I've been very impressed with him lately.Dont look now Reds but were right behind yinz... :lol:

I'm pretty sure that's a three games series with the Brewers but I will check to be sure...

Your right, it is a 3 game series, my bad. I looked at the schedule wrong. :oops:

Anyway, RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!! 2 in a row against the hated Brewers.

Ohlendorf goes 7 innings with a quality start, 1 run on 5 hits.

Young and Milledge go yard.

Bucs go for the sweep tomorrow!

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!! 3 IN A ROW AND A SWEEP OF THE BREWERS!!! Somebody pinch me. Better yet, bartender, set 'em up.

Maholm gets the win with a quality start, 7 2/3 1 run 8 hits. Evens his record at 7-7. Capps gets a save without giving up a hit. :shock:

Cedeno goes yard to get the game winning RBI with a 2 run homer with 2 outs in the bottom of the 2nd.

Bucs have just enough bats to get the win.

Thursday is an off day for the Bucs and then the Communist Redlegs come to town for a 3 game series this weekend. Right now the Pirates are just 1 game back of the Reds and if the Reds lose tomorrow's game against the Giants, they will only have a 1/2 game lead coming into the series. Reds have dropped 5 in a row as the Bucs are on a 3 game winning streak.

Time to get on the Reds thread and stir the pot. :lol:

Morton gets a quality start going 6 1/3 innings, 2 runs, 6 hits. Capps gets another save. :shock:

Buccos only have 5 hits but 2 of them where roundtrippers and they were 1 for 1 with runners in scoring position. Jones with a 2 out, 3 run blast over the Clemente wall. Milledge gets his second dinger as a Buc. Timely hitting comes through on the 30th anniversery of the 1979 World Series Champion Pirates with the gold jerseys and black double knit pants.

Lets go for 5 in a row in game 2 of the 3 game series with the Redlegs.

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!! FOR THE 5th GAME IN A ROW!

Pirates pound the Reds to drive them into the celler on the NL Central. :lol:

Zach Duke goes 7 innings, 2 runs on 8 hits.

Bucco batters hammer out 12 runs on 13 hits. Kind of reminds you of the ol' Lumber Company.

Pirates looking to break out the brooms Sunday afternoon for their second straight series sweep!

McCrushin with the 2 run walkoff blast! HOLY COW!!!

It was poetic justice that the Pirates came back to win.How many times have we blown these type of leads and not been able to answer back? McCutchen more than made up for his outfield gaff.The only shame is, I believe the reds won..Oh well...At least we didnt lose ground to them..

Phillies 4 Pirates 1

Pirates waste a great effort by Maholm as he goes 7 innings, gives up 5 hits and 1 run, a solo shot in the 1st by Utley. Hamel from the Phillies was just as good though, 8 innings and no runs on 7 hits.

Bucs did tie it at 1-1 in the bottom of the 9th as Moss goes yard but that is all they could get. Bullpen blows it in the 10th as they give up 3 runs, 2 of them on a homer by Howard.

Tough game tomorrow as Morton 3-6 goes against Happ 10-2. Hopefully, we can get the win and take the series 2 to 1.

RAISE THE JOLLY ROGER!!!

Bucs win their 3rd straight series and go 7-2 on the home stand. Bucs now 35-29 @ home.

Morton gives a quality start, 6 innings, 5 hits and 2 runs.

Bucs get all their runs on homers, Andrew "McCrushin" McCutchen with a solo shot leading off the 1st (his 9th) and Jones in the 8th with 1 on (his 15th).

Capps with the save. :shock:

On to Milwaukee for a weekend series with the Brew Crew. Hopefully, we can take 2 of 3 and improve the road record.

Bucs 1.5 games back of the Redlegs.
