Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
JaCkson can win at ironton will be close like maybe by only 6 points! Go SEOAL!!!!!
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
This is my favorite game of the year. Having family and friends in both towns and knowing how both schools feel about their football programs, make this the game of the year for me, every year. Wishing good luck and safe game to my two favorite teams. Having said that, I think both of the teams have the skills to win this one. I'm going to go with Jackson in a close game. Go Ironmen !!
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
To me the most important part of the game is Jackson's offense of line can they push the tigers back to give running lanes , I don,t think they will early but give it late 2nd QTR early 3rd thats when the running game for the Ironmen gets goings. Osborne has been a very good QB this season passing and running and just about everything else lol. Ironton is a very good team but Jackson main strength has been stopping the run except for the Logan game which that was just big plays sloppy tackles by Jackson. So my prediction will go as the following.
Jackson-28
Ironton-19
Jackson-28
Ironton-19

Ironton 22
Jackson 14
Ironton's brutal schedule thus far prepares them for anything Jackson can throw at them.

It does not get any better than this in early October! Good luck to both teams! I hope no major injuries come from this slobber-knocker!!

Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
This games gonna be crazy there's a lot riding on tgus gane for both teams. After last years game a triple overtime victory by Jackson you know ironton has this game circled on there calendar and of Jackson loses they could very well miss the playoffs so there's a lot at stake and come on man it's Jackson vs ironton this is always a tough contest. But Jackson is very explosive and they have a sick d but then again it's ironton at ironton ironton is an amazing team ppl are saying there down this year or whatever I don't buy that at all both teams are gonna have to play perfect football to get this win it's gonna be a helluva show Friday night it's gonna be some good ole smash mouth football. Let's go red get this win!!

i think this a gonna be a real slobber knocker, where you better have the stuff strapped on tight. jackson is trying to establish dominance and the fighting tigers have had it for so many years, they just ain't gonna hand it over. no matter how much bigger the opponent is. i look honestly to win a close one here, and get back where we need to be.i coached grade school football at rock hill when andy hall was at the high school. he has proved himself to be a very worthy adversary. but my dollar is on, ohio's winningest coach bob lutz.
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
Tigers have to play a lot harder than they did last week. Not much of a competitive spirit against Jonathan Alder, IMO. I was shocked to see that from a Coach Lutz team. You're Tiger Bait wrote:i think this a gonna be a real slobber knocker, where you better have the stuff strapped on tight. jackson is trying to establish dominance and the fighting tigers have had it for so many years, they just ain't gonna hand it over. no matter how much bigger the opponent is. i look honestly to win a close one here, and get back where we need to be.i coached grade school football at rock hill when andy hall was at the high school. he has proved himself to be a very worthy adversary. but my dollar is on, ohio's winningest coach bob lutz.

frankly ahm , you are right i didn't see much spunk myself. from anybody, team, fan's coaching. we gotta put it in overdrive brother. i've drove home on that greyhound. after a loss to gallip[olis in like 75/76, when we had an seoal winning streak of 34, and it was not fun.all over town trhere were signs , 34-and no more. even in our locker room there. that week after was like boot camp.
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
Ironton left the SEOAL after the 1984 season, I believe, but continued to play Jackson until 1988. Jackson didn't play at Ironton again until 1995 when the Tigers beat the Ironmen, 42-21. Since that time, Jackson has played at Ironton only two mores times, losing both games. Jackson's last win at the Tank did come in 1969, but the series between the two schools has not been continuous, so that stat is somewhat misleading. Nevertheless, Ironton has dominated the all-time series and has had a great deal of success at the Tank against Jackson.trip4 wrote:Don't know much about Jackson... somebody say the last time Jackson won at the TANK was 1969? how many times have
they played??
Here are the results between the two schools since they renewed their rivalry in 2005.
2005 at Jackson - Jackson 17 - Ironton 7
2006 at Ironton - Ironton 48 - Jackson 20
2007 at Jackson - Ironton 20 - Jackson 14 (OT)
2008 at Ironton - Ironton 54 - Jackson 6
2009 at Jackson - Ironton 28 - Jackson 7
2010 at Jackson - Jackson 26 - Ironton 19 (3OTs)
Re: Week 7: Jackson (6-0) @ Ironton (4-2)
There is certainly a lot on the line for both teams with regard to the playoffs. Ironton has much more room for error than Jackson, as it seems as though they can get into the post-season with 6 wins. Jackson, on the other hand, might be in trouble at 9-1, especially if that one loss comes against Ironton. The Tigers are Jackson's best chance for a considerable amount of computer points the rest of the way, so this is a MUST win game for Jackson. Perfect season and the playoffs are riding on this game.
ji81grad said it best in his post. The Tank is a historic venue and Ironton plays well at home, but Jackson shouldn't dwell on that. This group of kids knows what it takes to beat Ironton since they did just that last season. You have to play a physical brand of football and match them in the trenches. Gotta execute, take care of the football, and play every down like its the most important play of the game. This Jackson football team is very good. We'll see if they're tough enough, physically and mentally, to get the job done on Friday night. I think they are, but they have to prove it on the field.

IRONTON has all they need to be competing @a much higher level.
After BURG game that intensity disappeared.
They must find it this week to start embracing their Dominance again & Strenghth Of Schedule that has landed them here @4-2!
This week the intensity &dominance MUST RETURN & will!!!
TIGERS MARCH ON!!!!
Gotigersgo!!!!!

It don't matter now does it.
This will be Ironton and Jackson's last game since it wasn't rescheduled.
Next year will be the last for Gallia.
There only SEOAL team we have left will be Portsmouth and that is a true rivalry game and I don't see it stopping.
So we aren't in the SEOAL no more big deal get over it let it drop this about a good game between Ironton and Jackson one that Jackson may not be able to lose because of the point standings.
one if Ironton wins lets them in the playoffs.
Go ironton regroup been a tough couple of games stay focused and bring in that victory against Jackson.
