Congrats Ironmen. It's not easy winning at the Tank, as you know all too well.

I don't understand why in high school coaches don't make absolutely clear on that end of the half play with 15 seconds left, the DBs are to tackle the receiver if he gets past you. It's only a 15 yard penalty, hold his arms down, tackle him I don't care. Take the penalty over the TD. Good game Jackson, Ironton defense needs improvement.

Never understood how anyone can get behind you with 15 seconds left.

That too. They should have been standing on the goal line.

Don't matter big plays killed Ironton period you can not arm tackle and not block a good team like Jackson they came to win and they did.
Ironton needs to get ready for the next game and know what they need to do.

Ironton hasn't tackled or blocked any team this year. Don't think they are going to start next week.

Congratulations to Jackson on a big win for your program. Ironton may be down a little by their standards but few teams get to put wins in their pocket at the Tank. Get 'em next week Tigers.

What an outstanding football game! Congratulations to the Jackson Ironmen. Great win!

I thought Jackson got off to a great start as they jumped out to the 7-0 lead. They were controlling the line of scrimmage and taking it to Ironton. Then they had the INT as they were inside Ironton's 30 yard line, and the entire complection of the game changed for most of the second quarter. Ironton got a couple big plays on the play action pass and the long run by Brown, and just like that, they were up 16-7. At that point, the most crucial plays of the game were made by the Ironmen. Osborne got a good kick return and was then able to hit McNelly in the end zone with less than 10 seconds to go in the half to make it a 16-14 game.

Jackson took control of the line of scrimmage once again on their first drive of the second half, and worked their way down the field to take a 21-16 lead. Then the defenses seemed to step it up a notch. Jackson led 21-16 and then committed a costly mistake on the botched punt that gave Ironton a short field. The Tigers took advantage, punching it in on 4th and goal to take a 22-21 lead, but McNelly made a nice play to keep White out of the end zone on the two point conversion.

With five minutes remaining, and trailing 22-21, Jackson put together an OUTSTANDING final drive, capped off by a great TD run by Drew Ervin behind the kick out block of Morgan Landrum to take a 28-22 lead. From there, they were able to hold on defensively and get the win. Perfect defensive play by Nathan Parks to seal the deal, I might add.

Both teams should be commended for playing their hearts out, but in the end, Jackson got a great "W" in one of the toughest venues in the state of Ohio against a premier program. Austin Osborne was unbelievable all night, Ervin and Landrum were simply outstanding, McNelly made some big plays, but you also have to give credit to the offensive line. They've taken a lot of heat from everyone all season as they have tried to grow into a solid offensive line. Tonight, they stepped up to the challenge, got it done in the trenches, and made sure that Jackson stayed perfect. The offense made the plays they needed to make, the defense did the same, and special teams were solid once again. EVERY single kid on the Jackson football team did their job and contributed to a win that will be remembered forever.

This is a huge win as far as computer points are concerned, and definitely increases the likelihood that Jackson gets into the playoffs at 9-1. But we all know that 9-1 is NOT what this team wants. They're perfect as of tonight, and they want to stay that way. It gets no easier next week as St. Charles comes to Alumni Stadium. They're 2-5, but people better not buy into that. They have lost to some VERY good football teams and it's gonna take Jackson's best effort of the season to get win #8. Let's get it, Ironmen!
