i talked to a player just a little bit ago and he told me that they were told that they will be playing at 11:00am friday morning but the location has yet to be determined. then afer seeing the storm that is comming they were told that no one knows what will be going on untill friday gets here. it sure doesnt look good though, too much rain

does anyone know when regionals start? i am just wondering if there is a set date that the state tournament HAS TO BE completed. i know with the chance of friday being another wash out, nice weather predicted for saturday, and more rain scheduled for sunday is it possible we could still be playing come monday?

WHAT????...watch what you say....

Congrats on another awesome season and a 4th place finish in the state. Post 23 baseball is slowly but surely climbing back up to the pinnacle it once was. With a great coaching staff and a great amount of talent in the area it doesn't surprise how quickly this team has bounced back.

Great job guys and good luck next year and for many more years to come.

Congrats to Post 23 on another fine season. Coach Branon and Coach Davis do a wonderful job of taking kids from the different schools in Scioto county and molding them into the "Boys In Blue."

sw baseball fan --

in answer to your question about when the state tournament has to be completed, the winner has to be decided in time for the team to reach the regional site by next Wednesday -- in Ohio's case Appleton, Wis. -- for a banquet on Wednesday night and the start
of the tournament on Thursday. Last year, the Great Lakes Regional was held
in Chillicothe, Ohio ... the site rotates around the different states in the region .. next
time for Ohio will be in about four or five years.

Portsmouth team has class kids and class coaches. Never try to show up an opponent or an umpire. They play the game the right way.

i have to agree with the statements about how great the post 23 coaching staff realy is. and it helps that the kids who play for post 23 realy love baseball and when you put a bunch of kids together that have talent and knowledge of the game it helps a lot. i have always said, give a coach good players, he will make them great. that is definatly an understatement for what the coaches can do for this area's players

Congratulations to the players and coaches of Post 23. You had a hard-fought District 7 Tournament Championship and then went back to work at the State Tournament with an excellent 4th place finish. Sorry I wasn't able to get to Athens this year to watch you play, but the family vacation of 10 days kind of took precendence. I always follow your progress during the summer, though.

Coach Branon has done a great job of re-establishing Post 23 on the Ohio American Legion map. He always was a class-act on the field back in his days at Wheelersburg and it sounds like his players are following his lead and representing Post 23 on the diamond as well.

Congratulations on a great year 23! Keep building the program, a state championship won't take too long. Didn't make it to the state in my 2 yrs - would have been a great way to end an already great season!

late,
