=THIS WEEK IN THE TVC=
#1 ATHENS BULLDOGS (6-0) vs. #7 WELLSTON GOLDEN ROCKETS (2-4)
#2 NELSONVILLE-YORK BUCKEYES (6-0) vs. #3 ALEXANDER SPARTANS (5-1)
#4 SOUTHERN (4-2) vs. #10 MILLER FALCONS (1-5)
#5 EASTERN (3-3) vs. UnRanked FEDERAL HOCKING LANCERS (0-6)
#6 TRIMBLE (2-4) vs. #8 WATERFORD (3-3)
#9 MEIGS (1-5) vs. UnRanked VINTON COUNTY VIKINGS
UnRanked BELPRE GOLDEN EAGLES (0-6) vs. (NoN-League) BISHOP ROSECRANS (4-1)
[ATHENS/WELLSTON]
The Athens Bulldogs are riding sky high after running through the former-undefeated Alexander Spartans. The Bulldogs were able to exploit the Spartan D all night breaking off huge plays, especially on the ground which was the exact opposite formula of success for the Bulldogs who have been relying on huge pass plays. Wellston has found some late season success after dropping their 1st 4 to start the season. The Golden Rockets too are coming off a Win after they defeated Vinton County last Saturday. Athens must come hungry to this game as they have to avoid a letdown and possible 'Trapt' game. Wellston, well they have nothing to lose, being at home as they try to ruin Athens run at a possible perfect-season and TVC-Ohio Crown....
[NY/ALEX]
*Game of the Week*
The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes now get their chance at the Alexander Spartans. The Alexander Spartans now get their chance at the Nelsonville-York Buckeyes. In what will most likely go down as the biggest game in Alexander football history, and possibly the largest crowd to ever attend a Alexander Football game, the town of Albany will be rockin'. NY comes in with the (6-0) record, Alexander comes in with the do-or-die mentality. For Alexander, a loss would most likely eliminate them from a shot at the Ohio Crown and the Play-Offs. For NY, they must keep with their formula, play good D and must not take this game lightly. The Boys on the NY team def. do not want to be the first Buckeye Squad to lose to Alexander. This game will be intense, and should be real fun to watch. If Alexander could knock-Off NY Friday, they would quickly forget the loss to Athens and position themselves into a running for both the Ohio-Crown and the Play-Offs. This game will be won on the Defensive Side of the ball. Which 'D' forces more turnovers Wins the ball game...
[SOUTHERN/MILLER]
The Southern Tornadoes are one of the hottest teams in the TVC right now. The Miller Falcons are not. The Tornadoes already have 4 Wins under their belt win what they see as a very 'Winnable' game Friday night. The Falcons, who have fell into a Black Hole cannot turn the ball over at all if they think they have a chance in this game. This is Southern's game to lose, and is a position game for them as a Win would position them quite well for a run at the Hocking Crown. For Miller, find a way to win this game, dig, scratch and claw for everything because your fans need something to help them forget the last 5 weeks. The Miller Falcons get the chance to play 'Spoiler', which if any team that hasn't found success knows, misery loves company. The chance to prevent a league foe from gettin' a chance at the league title is almost as good as winning it yourself, almost. Look for the Tornadoes to be flyin' fast and look for some Feathers to be flyin' as well..
[EASTERN/FH]
The Eastern Eagles need to rebound quick after losing last week to Trimble. The Eagles are in must-win mode if they want a shot at the Hocking Crown. For The Federal Hocking Lancers its quite simple...go out and have some fun. Your team has nothing left to lose, you have the chance to ruin another teams season and now must turn your sites to 'Spoiler'. The word around the town, is even with their (0-6) record, many feel Federal Hocking is the favorite to win this game versus Eastern. The Eagles, who had the better record last Week versus Trimble, can't lose again to a team with a worse record can they? Lancer fans need a win, Eagles fans want to quickly forget last weeks loss. Should be a fun contest out in Eastern...
[TRIMBLE/WATERFORD]
The Trimble Tomcats have scratched their way back into the mix for the running of the Hocking Crown. After a slow start, Trimble with defeating Eastern last week has put themselves into a great spot for the League Championship. Waterford, with a Win versus Trimble will do the exact same, that being putting themselves right into the drivers seat for the running of the Hocking Crown. This should be an intense game between two teams that really just don't like each other. Trimble comes in as the hotter team of the two and the Wildcats must get to them early. The one advantage to look for is how much the home crowd helps the Wildcats and hurts the Tomcats. Coach Faires is good at gettin' his teams to play in big games. Grab your popcorn, because your about to witness a 'Cat Fight'...
[MEIGS/VC]
The Meigs Mauraders played last week as if they were undefeated. They took the undefeated Warriors from Warren to 2 OT's before losing the heartbreaker because of a blocked extra point. The Mauraders were 'Rocky' when he just flatout beat the living tar out of 'Apollo Creed'. Warren, they played the Role of 'Apollo Creed' allowing Meigs to have a chance at winning the fight. However, just like Creed winning the Fight by decision, it was Warren pulling out the victory. Vinton County, well they need something. Don't know what that something is but it is def. missing, because the Vikings are winless and a victory doesn't look close in sight. For the Vikings, a chance at upsetting a team must be in their eyes. The bright spot for Vinton County is their Special Teams play. Will this game come down to a Special Teams play? This is Meigs game to Lose, as they will be the 'Heavy' Favorites and should win this game Big...
[BISHOP/BELPRE]
The Belpre Golden Eagles come in winless while Bishop struts 4 victories. The Golden Eagles must feel some relief to get a non-league game for a change, but will they come out like the team against (Alex) or the other team. Look for the Golden Eagles to give the Rosecrans everything they have. For the Eagles, their record doesn't indicate the capability of this team. Belpre, with just a few breaks their way could have a different record, however they have been on the losing end when it comes to breaks. The TVC fans are in support for the Golden Eagles as they battle an NoN-TVC opponent this week...

"The one advantage to look for is how much the home crowd helps the Wildcats and hurts the Tomcats."
The Trimble/Waterford series stands at 9-3.
Trimble has only lost once at Waterford (2007) making them 5-1 on the road in this series.

Exactly my point Warpig...
The One Advantage for Waterford to look for is if their crowd can play a factor...
Dilligaf,
I think the game will be closer then what you think...especially if weather rolls into play...

Its game day and it is soakin' wet...
Turnovers and Running Games now become key parts of Ball Games...
Should be another great Night of Football with some 'Big' area games...
In the OHIO, (6-0) NY @ (5-1) Alexander should be your *Game of The Week*
In the HOCK, (2-4) Trimble @ (3-3) Waterford should be your *Game of The Week*
PLAY HARD, STAY DRY AND ARE YOU READY FOR SOME 'MUDBOWL'....

Dilligaf-
You're right, it was a good thing it was raining because it sounds like Trimble could have scored 100 tonight...
All-in-All, I'm shocked by all the (shut-outs)...you just do not see that many on the same night...including both of the games I thought were games of the week for each side of the TVC...

Re: =THE TVC POWER POLL= (WEEK VII) =
Thanks for the in-depth info of your league.. Being an Ironton fan, and not coming into contact with any except NY, and being primarily an "Independent team' and the tvc having no bearing on our outcomes, until playing NY, i really didnt realize some of these schools had football. I wish you well, as i respect anyone who keeps his passion for his team and league posted for others to see. It caught my attention, of course, because of the tough road NY has.. Ironton is in that division 4 where you must play bigger schools, and win to qualify for post - season. Plus Ironton has been independent for soo long,I think most Ironton fans prefer that.
I do know Ironton will have a couple years of rebuilding in the near future, and I like the Idea of league play, I just wished i felt the passion for being in the seoal win or lose as you seem to have!!! You made it feel right, comfortable, and like a home and a great achievement, to win your league!!!
Honestly, All i feel in re-joining the seoal is that it is a travel mess. Win or lose. No jealousy towards any other team, but there is so much dis-respect between some schools... Others in the seoal get it; respect,( ex. ihs -vs gahs-) and it makes it fun, then you run into a wall of just complete verbal non-sense, that makes you wished there was no re-joining...
I just wished all teams would take the time to read your post and realize how important the passion and respect for other teams in your league is win or lose... thanks...

Re: =THE TVC POWER POLL= (WEEK VII) =
tjhtygeverve-
I myself played in the (Old)SEOAL if you will back in 2000-2003 (Grad '04).
I loved the SEOAL with a passion, it was exciting especially around the years I played (not only in Football) but to stay focus on the sport forum. I dreaded playing away games at places like Logan and Jackson because you knew their crowds were going to be loud, and sometimes disruptive (especially for a team that like to run the no-huddle like us). But, man I will tell you that the (OLD) SEOAL around my time had some of the best games a fan could ask for. I played in 2 Athens/Logan games that went all the way down to the last play. We lost both (6-0 & 34-30), and they still haunt me to this day. One play, one break our way and we could have had a say in the League championshp. Also, the Athens/Jackson game my Senior Year is probably the Best Game that I ever played in, and I bet a game that fans of both teams and the league itself won't ever forget. A battle back and forth, with lead changes each second, that ended with us tying the game on a 4th and Goal play only to have Jackson return the kick off into our territory setting up a Freshman (Soccer Player) to kick the games winning FG giving Jackson the (39-36) Win...
However, when the League decided to get more schools and change the entire feel of the League, it kind of made it hard to like.
I find a lot of good things right now in the TVC, that I saw in the (Old) SEOAL and I hope they do not change...as the rivalries are only getting better and the games have been great. As much as I wish Athens was back in the (Old) SEOAL, (which I know will never happen again), I have embraced the new feel of the TVC and love the fact of how close all the schools are. It makes it better in terms of knowing the other school, and their history that follows....
Good Times in the TVC right now...
...And Good Luck to Ironton. A great team this year and classy program...

*Game of the Week*
ATHENS (7-0) vs. NELSONVILLE-YORK (6-1)
I can proudly say that I have held the Doc Kroner Trophy (Twice) in my career at Athens...
We loved when 'Won' it at home, but we knew it was even better when we defended it the next year at 'NY'
This game will be intense to say the least...
Hopefully the rain holds off, because we could see a record crowd at Athens...
A Win, and the Dogs assure themselves atleast a Share of the Title with one league game to play...
A Win, and the Bucks force a 3-Way Tie (Ath/NY/Alex)...
