WK4 Meigs @ Athens TVC-Ohio Game

NYBucks....Okay let's go over this again. I used to be a coach (not football) at Fairfield Union for 5 years. Now I am a coach (not football) at Liberty Union going on 2 years. As for my interest in Meigs and Athens...I am a Meigs alum and my brother is on the coaching staff at Athens. Changing my avatar has nothing to do with whoever is doing well. No need to take shots at me just because LU beat NY in the playoffs last year. It was a great game and everyone from LU was respectful to the NY people and still talk about how nice your facilities are. Matter of fact, after that game talks immediately began for improvements to LU's facilities because people were so impressed.

IT has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LOSS TO LU.NY LOST TO A GOOD LU TEAM THAT MADE THE FINAL 4.NOTHING AGAINST LU.BUT IT WAS SAID THAT THE TVC COULD NOT PLAY WITH THE MSL.AND IF MY MEMORY IS CORRECT.LU HAD TO COME FROM BEHIND.IN THE FINAL MIN.

I think Meigs will give up a lot.... but score more. I agree about the point with similar schedules, but in football it's all about matchups. I think Well can pick the secondary apart like none the Bulldogs have seen so far.

I think this one is going to boil down to whether Athens' D-line and stunt package can apply enough pressure to help the secondary out. Well throws an outstanding ball, especially fades that will make it tough for Athens' secondary to cover unless they spend some time in cover 2. Stanley and Germano have played solid at the def. end position so if they can flush him out of the pocket they will be fine.

Looks to be an outstanding night of SE Ohio high school football at Rutter Field.

Last year, he continually brought up the scores of LU v. BU and NY v. BU. He would then say that scores cannot be compared but...........

Reading between the lines, I think it's safe to say he was expecting LU to manhandle NY. Though, with only scores to go on, it wasn't that big of a leap. However, I heard enough from BU and NY people to know otherwise. BU readily admitted to playing over their heads against a sleep-walking NY team.

I don't remember posts from the AC game, so I can't add anything to that point.

frozen i will agree with what you said but i stand by what i said last year. if i did not mean it then of if it was not true i would not have said it.

i was on that team. Athens did not play any varsity players. what you are possibly referring to is that some of the varsity JERSEYS were used because we had to bring up some freshmen because we only had 13 people playing JV. please dont make this argument anymore its offensive and makes you look petty.

dude i was there and i can read a program. not only that but people from athens high school confirmed it. unless there was only 10 varsity players then they where there. now call me stupid but athens had more than 10 playing friday. the fact was that the fresmen did not play in the jv game. i was told they where a whole other team. now you can get on here and say it ain't true and keep this going or you can drop it because it only makes athens look bad. it's up to you.

i think cameron either hurt his knee or broke his leg. athens is playing a great game but meigs has a huge hole on offence and defence without bolin. athens qb is throwing strikes and the wideouts are running like meigs is playing flag football.
on a side note the refs are having a field day. not playing favorites but gee guys can't either team run more than 23 plays without a flag?

if you think you will shut down meigs "O" then you must live on mars. athens has played gallia academy ( 0-3, trimble 0-3 and bloom carrol ?) and meigs has played 2 of the top teams in seohio. fairland is a few points from 3-0 coal grove is 3-0 and well river valley. meigs has played a tough schedule athens not so much. i don't know how good athens is, but i know meigs will bring it friday.

Well first of all i think Trimble could beat meigs.secondly athens never played Trimble.I also think athens d line and o line will dominate meigs,Athens is bigger stronger and faster than meigs.

I spoke to Bolin's father as he was leaving the stadium and he confirmed that his son suffered a broken leg. The injury occurred on the broken pass play Meigs scored with on their opening possession when he and an Athens player didn't see each other and collided full speed. I would like to wish the young man a speedy recovery and all the best in the future.
