West and Piketon

Any thoughts about the game and what each team would like to accomplish?

I think west should handle piketon pretty easily but I would think they will probably keep it pretty simple on the offense and not show very much I would say we will see alot of different kids in and out of the game.

West's offense will be a work in progress. This team doesn't have the huge backs like the last few. What they do have is speed and skill coupled with a good and experienced line. This team may be the best passing team that we've had since 1990. I look alot less double tight T formation trying to use the skill they have.
Defense looked really good Saturday. It will only improve.

Not to bad varsity was 28-0 in 2qts and a series we had 2 turnovers 1 was inside the 10 ran the ball well probably averaged 7 or 8 yards a carry didn't throw very much, the defense looked very good against the run but not so well against the pass , piketon probably didnt have very many rushing yards the jv came in and looked good on d
and moved the ball well against their starters and their jv scored on a long run against the freshman, Luke Morgan looked good going 4 for 4 on the extra points.

Like you the only real issue I saw was getting lost in the defensive backfield. Seemed like the safeties were supposed to have deep outside and were getting lost at times after the corner dropped off. Contain at the ends against the run and waggles/rollouts could be better.

Offense looks good. Seemed very vanilla. Line was dominate.

Right now we seem in good shape for going into week 1.

West gave Piketon a good beating but not as bad as last year. It helped us wake up last year And it worked again. Great scrimage west.
