Talk about someone with toughness and skill.Another thing we have to look forward to is the return of Max Talbot...It only going to make the bottom two lines stronger.

Gonchar missed the first 56 games last year and the Pens were 27-24-5 without him. Letang will move up to the top power play unit next to Goligoski if Gonchar misses any playing time.

The one thing about the Pens this year is that it isn't one person that has to carry the team to be successful. If Ovechkin doesn't score for the Caps, they struggle; if Crosby or Malkin have an off-night, we have more depth to pick up the slack.

Sergei Gonchar will be out 4 - 6 weeks with a broken wrist. The bench of the Pens will have to step up and not let what happened last year when he went down and the Pens played only 3 games above .500.

I think we have more depth to come through his loss.

Pens 3 Panthers 2 in the shootout.

Crosby gets 2 goals in the 3rd to tie it up, the second on a shorthanded goal with less than 4 minutes left and then scores the only goal in the shootout to lead the Pens to their 9th win of the year.

Fleury had the night off and the Panthers got to backup goalie Johnson with 2 goals in the first but he settled down to get his first win of the year.

Pens get no rest as they comeback with another game on saturday at home vs the Devils, always a grudge match.

Pens 9-1-0

Pens are tied with the 84-85 Oilers (8-0-2) and the 92-93 Pens (8-0-2) with the most points (18) thru 10 games for a defending Cup champ.

MONTREAL (AP) -Mike Cammalleri got the Montreal Canadiens out to an early lead, then helped them recover from a two-goal deficit by completing his third career hat trick with an unassisted effort in overtime.

Cammalleri scored his third goal of the game 2:42 into the extra period to give Montreal a 5-4 win over the New York Rangers on Saturday night.

Cammalleri put a wrist shot past Henrik Lundqvist for his fifth goal of the season as the Canadiens (5-5-0) won their third in a row following a five-game losing streak.

Devils 4 Pens 1

You can't win them all. Tip your cap to the Jersey boys in this one and move on.

Next up for the Pens, the Habs in the Igloo.

I think Mike Lange would read this as..."Sidney Crosby got a hat trick and smoked them like a bad cigar as the Pittsburgh Penquins beat the Montreal Canadiens 6-1."

I'll have to ask my son when he gets home from school since he is taking French 4 this year.

No, I am not going to Columbus but I would like to. Going to watch Belpre play football and then I have to work.

Tickets are hard to find at the Igloo. The game vs Montreal was the Pens 125th straight sellout. I expect there will be more than a few Pens fans at Nationwide Arena.

The Pens make the Blue Jackets "Blue" in a 4-3 shootout win.The Blue Jackets found out that you have to play the Penguins for 60 minutes to beat them. The Blue Jackets are improved but far from Stanley Cup Final material...

"Get that dog off my lawn!!!"

Pens win without Geno and Fleury.

Watched the highlights on NHL.com TV and Nationwide Arena was loud when the BlueJackets scored. It was even louder when the Pens scored 2 in 37 seconds late in the 3rd to tie it.

Your right Panther, you have to play 60 minutes to beat the best!!!

MONTREAL (AP) -Mike Cammalleri and Scott Gomez scored in a shootout to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a chippy 5-4 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs after they squandered a two-goal lead in the third period Saturday night.
