Gonchar missed the first 56 games last year and the Pens were 27-24-5 without him. Letang will move up to the top power play unit next to Goligoski if Gonchar misses any playing time.
The one thing about the Pens this year is that it isn't one person that has to carry the team to be successful. If Ovechkin doesn't score for the Caps, they struggle; if Crosby or Malkin have an off-night, we have more depth to pick up the slack.
