Well, if George Costanza is rooting for the Trojans then you can't go against it. Heard the rain might be coming down during gametime. Could be a case of some serious "shrinkage".

I know this isn't true, because there aren't any jobs to be working at in either Scioto or Lawrence county .

Uh huh...and...since I said that about Portsmouth, their win % is only 42% and they have only made 2 playoff appearances! I think I had it pretty darned right!....
Then again, I also said not too long after that, Ironton would leave the SEOAL but I got blasted for making that statement as well

......... AND....what I'd REALLY love to see is for the Tigers to get the first playoff win ever in Portsmouth's pretty new stadium!
Portsmouth would have to win out to get a home playoff game...2 out of three would put them..and the stadium idle for week 11. A good chance that stadium will host a round 2 playoff game I would think..could be..Ironton if they make it that far.
Oh..and Biggdowgg, again, Portsmouth's coaching staff talking up about how the Tigers lost against a Kentucky Team..and that means Portsmouth will roll over them because of it...I just don't think that's too wise of them, do you?

Re: Rival Portsmouth 5-2 @ Ironton 5-2
almost as bad as Irontons coaches , telling their kids to get ready for week 9, because Burg pounded the snot out of Portsmouth, and we beat Burg handily,,,so no need to prepare for this weeks game.

Re: Rival Portsmouth 5-2 @ Ironton 5-2
No no no..you got that all twisted around. Portsmouth's coaches were telling their kids that the Tigers will be the easiest team on their schedule this year because they have said... 1. they are a totally different team now since Wheelersburg 2. Ironton will over look them 3. nothing can stop the Trojans from defeating Ironton at the Tank This year! and 4. Ironton isn't really all that good!
I can't believe the arrogance of the Portsmouth coaching staff and team! At least you'd think they'd give Ironton SOME respect! Where's Aretha Franklin when you need her?!

This should be a great game. I don't know if Portsmouth can win in Ironton, but they have surprised everybody with what they have done since The Burg game. I know everybody from Minford will be pulling for the Trojans. You are one of best point getters so far. And I always like to see a Scioto County team pull off an upset.
I don't think that Ironton will surprise anybody with their play calling. They will come right at you, and make you stop them. The big question is can Portsmouth's coaching staff (coach) their way to a win. I hope so!!
Portsmouth 28
Ironton 21 Make us proud Trojans!!!!!

This one could be a bit closer than many think. I'll say Ironton 28 Portsmouth 21.

I never ever make predictions but I do lean on what the bookie says, and although he is not right 100% of the time he is always pretty close........and I cant tell you what he says about Friday yet........
since the early 50s I have been watching these two rivals face off on the gridiron and this Friday is kind of special for Ironton and Portsmouth knows that so they will be coming to town with victory on their mind. With that said, I am looking for a great game and I hope Coach Lutz reaches the plateau that Terry Malone (Hamilton Badin) is now setting on......

It would be nice to see, but i dont see Ironton playing any playoff games at Portsmouth. Based on who is in our region and IF we get to a second round game, Jackson will probably be a playoff venue for Ironton.

Re: Rival Portsmouth 5-2 @ Ironton 5-2
Interestingly enough 85 is that, after just checking, I noticed that Ironton has not played a playoff game at Portsmouth since 1999. When you consider the number of playoff games the Fighting Tigers have played in Spartan (13 Total!) it's pretty interesting that they haven't since then.
I kinda assumed that they might use Portsmouth again now that the stadium is so nice but perhaps not.

I checked with OHSAA and nice stadiums are not on their checklist.............mileage is on their checklist, especially for second round games...........and I see Jackson on the list definitely for a second round game.........

I think there's been a big improvement since this new bunch took over a couple years ago though Turk.
