Looking ahead a little, I would absolutely love to see an Amanda-Clearceek vs. Ironton playoff game at Jackson's Alumni Stadium. Hope to see Ironton and Portsmouth represent the SEOAL in the playoffs from this region.

ITownHosscat,

Ironton certainly looks to gain a lot of ground on the rest of the region in the coming weeks if they can win out...all kinds of computer points out there for the taking. Thanks for breaking down the remaining schedule for the potential playoff teams.

Of the above teams leading D4 R15
Only 2 teams finish out playing teams with combined winning records,Ironton and Port.West.
If Ironton wins out they should get a home field playoff game.
West has a tough row to hoe.Minford and Portsmouth losses killed them.

Ironton and AC are the best teams in the region. When they'll meet is the big question.

Get ready for another wild finish. The final three weeks of the high school football season should be intriguing when trying to determine the postseason playoff participants.

In Region 15 of Division IV, Amanda Clearcreek appears to have first place secured. The Aces have a huge lead and they close with 2-5 Teays Valley, 4-3 Fairfield Union and 2-5 Bloom Carroll.

West Muskingum should be second this week, but their final three games don’t have many points with 0-7 Morgan and both Philo and Claymont at 2-5.

Coshocton has a chance to move up from third place if the Redskins beat 6-1 Dover next week. Their other two games are against 2-5 Claymont and 0-7 River View.

Ironton is fifth this week but could be the biggest mover. The Fighting Tigers finish with 5-2 Portsmouth, 6-1 Nelsonville-York and 6-1 Warren. If Ironton wins out, it could climb all the way to second in the region.

Heath is fourth and faces a big game with 6-1 Granville this week. They finish with 3-4 Bexley and 0-7 Lakewood.

Portsmouth is sixth this week and their hopes lie with beating Ironton. The Trojans final two games are 1-6 Marietta and 3-4 Western Brown.

Bishop Hartley is seventh and must win out. The Hawks visit Gallipolis this week and then take on 0-7 Spencerville and5-1 Bishop Ready who is fighting for a Division V playoff spot.

Alexander is eighth this week and has a woeful schedule the rest of the way. Meigs is 2-5, Vinton County is winless and Wellston is 2-5. The scary part for Alexander is Meigs is capable of beating the Spartans.

Zane Trace, Portsmouth West, Sparta Highland and Fairland are next and need a lot to happen.

West is 5-2 and still has Lucasville Valley and Wheelersburg to play.

Fairland is 5-2 and must win out including a season-ending battle with Coal Grove.

Speaking of Coal Grove, the Hornets’ hopes of making the playoffs for the first time since 1992 rest in winning their final three games, mainly the Fairland showdown for the Ohio Valley Conference championship.

Coal Grove’s other two teams are against 1-6 Rock Hill and River Valley.

If the Hornets falter, Wheelersburg and West Lafayette Ridgewood are ready to leapfrog.

Coal Grove is seventh this week, one spot ahead of Nelsonville-York. However, N-Y must beat unbeaten Athens this week and Ironton the following week in order to make the playoffs.

The Buckeyes’ final game is against winless Vinton County.

In Division VI, Symmes Valley is sixth this week and should qualify for the playoffs by winning two of its final three games. That’s good since the Vikings play at unbeaten Oak Hill this Friday.

The Vikings still have a chance at hosting a first round game if they can upset Oak Hill.

Enjoy the final three weeks. It will be exciting each week.

If Portsmouth win any 2 out of their last 3 they are in the playoffs. Even though Marietta (1-6), and Western Brown (3-3) they are both D2 schools. They are still enough points to put them in at 7-3. Ironton is a great opportunity but it does not make or break the Trojans chances. GO TROJANS

Good grief! Who knows how those last 2 or 3 spots will turn out? Hartley will most likely lose to Ready in week 10, opening up the door for someone else.

I'm going with Portsmouth, Alexander, and Zane Trace to fill up spots 6-8.

Portsmouth is "Suspect" to losing at any time since Burg hung 68 points on them.

Oh, don't get me wrong; this is a very, very weak region this year. I was just taking a shot in the dark.

Oh, and by the way, Coal Grove's last playoff appearance was in 1996, not 1992.

Top to bottom region 19 is quite a bit tougher.

Region 20 is absolutely stacked from top to bottom. I would guess that the D5 winner comes from that region.

There is always a weak region somewhere, Im not sure fifteen is it. There are even years when division 5 is as good as Division 2. We all know that. I do not think there really is a clear cut leader for the championship in division four this year. I have really invested some time in reading about the top ten in each region, and every game they have played. I know Kettering alter is defending, and they have been rolling through the season. They will get their test with Dayton Chaminade-Julienne, but i truly believe kettering alter will win out. I know they lost some key players, but A lot of talent is back. If anyone can knock this team out of the way during the post-season, this will give many teams a chance to win a championship. I think that Albany alexander, will be hard pressed to possibly beat meigs. I know they handled NY, but the strengths and weaknesses of many unbeatens were exposed last week. I think many of those that suffered their first loss were the benefactor of schedule to have been unbeaten to that point. I know albany blanked NY for their first shut out, but something tells me Meigs, at home, will give them a game. They must win to qualify. If not it will allow a 7-3 team or maybe two to get into post season play.. Region 15 is tough. Amanda sits atop of the mountain, and i think we could see a state champion emerge from this region. When you look at the leaders of this region, they have played a really big load of talented teams, and many have a loss or two. Do you think the winner of fifteen automatically plays the winner of 16? It looks that way, unless st. clairsville or martins ferry take 14.... just football for thought on my day off, and i call this therapy and relaxation..
I hope 19 is the strong division five region so a local team can advance, I just dont see it. Division 20 will handle the state crown easily.

4:15 is tough at the very top, but it falls off a long, long way after the top 4 or so.
Amanda and Ironton are two of the 10 best teams in DIV, IMO.

Does Division 4 play on Fridays or Saturdays this year?
