Coal Grove could put up 80 but the cheerleaders will be playing by the end of the 3rd.

I know everyone sees this game as a romp, lets just not look past the Raiders to week 10, the boys need to do the job this week and focus of River Valley so week 10 does mean something.

Raiders will go down but I would love to see the upset and give them their first win on the field.

grove never over look a team that is hungry for a win we have seen those 1 win teams or 0 win teams suprise teams befor do your job like there 8-0 and then think about the next one cant afford a slip up if you want a week 11. practice as it was week 1 every week
would love to see a long run into the playoffs but you have to work hard to keep it going no let up work harder be the best tou can.

AHH! i remember the 2004 game at Coal Grove as if it were yesterday.
As Coal Grove drove and scored to take the lead with about 2 mins left,as soon as the extra point was good all the sprinklers on the end that River Valley was to be driving to came on and ran for what must have been 5 mins until water stood on the field. The funniest part was the little guy in the wheel chair at that end had a water hose in his hand he held it spraying water on the field, when the sprinklers went off he threw it down. River Valley fans were livid afterwards everyone laughed about how it happened.
Just remembering!

Blue_

Sorry but I'm not even from CG but I do happen to know who the guy in the wheelchair was and he would have never done anything to have aided cheating kids out of a game. After his accident he went through hell physically but lived a very rich life surrounded by many friends.

Unfortunately, Carl is no longer here to defend himself.

By the way, the last we, Ironton, played CG, someone forgot to turn the timer to the sprinkler off. That game was never close. I never thought for one minute it was done intentionally.

The bad thing is....Coal Grove will be up by around 50 in the 4th qtr. They will leave their starters in until the last 30 seconds of the game and keep throwing to try and score more. Seen it before.

They didn't leave their starters in against Rock Hill.

They didn't do that against River Valley last year. It was the jayvees and freshmen out there by the middle of the 3rd. . . and the Raiders couldn't stop them either, unfortunately, and lost 61-6.
This River Valley team is down compared to last year, while CG's team is better than last year's team. Coal Grove will not have to throw to score points in this one. They churned out well over 400 yards of rushing offense against Rock Hill.
Regardless of how much of a blowout this one could or should be, I'll be up there cheering on the Grove as usual. I love the drive up to Cheshire and for some reason I enjoy taking in a ball game up there.
The Raiders are not the most talented team in the world, but those kids have heart and guts and give it absolutely everything they have.

I was at the aforementioned sprinkler game. The timer was off and the sprinklers started during the game. It may have seemed like 5 minutes, but I watched the AD "sprint" from one end of the field to the other, I think in maybe at least a 64.4 hundred. Let's hope for a good, injury free game, and all fans have a safe trip to the game. RV, we have been down before too, do what's needed to get the ship righted, the kids deserve it.

CGHornet10, will you be making the pilgrimage to Cheshire?

To the Hornet RBs: as usual, watch for craters and gopher holes in the field! They abound up there!

I've managed to make it to all but 2 of Coal Grove's games this year.. I don't think I'll make it to this one since Ohio State plays at home Saturday. Shouldn't be much of a game, I'll just need updates from a fan lol
