Jackson (7-2) at Zanesville (8-1)
Jackson (7-2) at Zanesville (8-1)
Jackson is coming off a 27-7 loss at the hands of Logan, while Zanesville defeated Gallia Academy by a score of 28-7. Both teams still have playoff hopes, but it appears they will both need a win and some help to crack the top 8 in their respective regions. Unofficially, Jackson is 13th in DIII Region 12 and Zanesville is 18th in DII Region 7. A win for either team equals major computer points, but as I mentioned before, neither team controls its own destiny.

Ironman I hope you guys go up there and get the win. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
Re: Jackson (7-2) at Zanesville (8-1)
Thanks, OZZIE.
It's a long trip and the Blue Devils have a VERY good football team, but I think Jackson is up to the challenge. The Ironmen have lost to two of the area's very best football teams this season and they seem to be playing pretty well going into the finale. It's gonna take an outstanding effort from our boys, but I believe in them.
Definitely a HUGE game for both teams. It seems as though there are quite a few pieces that must fall in place for the Ironmen and Blue Devils to reach the second season, but the first piece of the puzzle is a win next Friday night.

Good Luck Jackson from Trojan Country. I hope you beat Zville and get the help you need to see WK 11.

Good luck Ironmen! Sink the Blue Devils and end that little...VERY little ray of hope for them to get in the playoffs. Hope you guys can pull out the win and go on to Week 11.

Kicker wasn't that special, but they have an excellent punter. Yes, very quick to the ball defensively, but on offense, if Jackson can pressure the qb, they can do some good. Also, #28 is quite the running back.
Gotta give the edge to Zanesville. But pulling for Jackson.

Me too. I don't think at the beginning of the year many people thought Jackson would be better then a 6-4/5-5 team.

Re: Jackson (7-2) at Zanesville (8-1)
WOW!!
How does a team with an 8-1 record only garner an 18th place in their region? Is their competition that weak?
Nevermind, I went and checked Joe Eital and I see now. The teams they beat have a combined 13-59 record and 2 teams don't even have a win and 3 have only 1 win.
Comparative scores of teams they have both played this season
Zanesville
Chillicothe - won 14-7, away
Logan - lost 26-0, away
Gallia - won 28-7, home
Jackson
Chillicothe - won 20-0, away
Logan - lost 27-7, away
Gallia - won 28-16, home
On paper it looks fairly even, but I guess I would give Zanesville the slight edge because it at their house. This will be a tough game to pick this week and will definitely be in the Pickems Contest.

good luck to both teams neither team should make the playoffs so this should be both of these teams last game.

Jackson played Chillicothe and Logan better but the Marietta game was big for Zanesville. Also Marietta had more players out againt Zanesville than against jackson

Ironmen go north and just win. Alot of people (including me

Go Ironmen!
Would love to see both these teams in the playoffs, but I think Jackson has the better shot with the win.
Two teams who have had great seasons.

Both teams need some help, especially Zanesville, but neither is mathematically eliminated.
With a win over Zanesville, Jackson will make up a lot of ground on most of the teams vying for the #7 and #8 seeds in Region 12. They may only need a couple games to go their way to make it in, in addition to a win over the Blue Devils. I'll take a closer look at the numbers and work out some scenarios later in the week, but Jackson sneaking in doesn't seem too unlikely to me.
