Warren Warriors, 2009-2010
What are the numbers looking like going into the season? Probable starting lineup? Any new freshmen that will make an impact? I understand Warren has had a very good youth program producing, any of those kids coming through yet? Rohr should be the leader of the team and have a great year..

Re: Warren Warriors, 2009-2010
Several freshmen want to wrestle. Today is report card day so might want to wait and see on monday. Numbers should be up, still not at full team strength though. Probably no 103, but could have several at the 215 and 275. Probably a couple of holes in the middle to start, until weights get down and stabilized. Have to have at least 8 to be considered a team by OHSAA. Less than that and you are not considered a team for sectionals, etc.

Yeah. I did not know this. What if you have 5 or 6 studs. Check my history, but one year Thompson Ledgemont won the state in D3 but only had a half a dozen kids on the team. Four or five of them were in the finals (States) and won. I think this happened, someone make sure. This it makes hard on the small schools. Some D6 schools only 20 kids on the football team. Think how hard it is to fill 13 weight classes.

OHSAA has had this for years and years. Remember some districts seed teams by this (Central). This is for consideration in the sectionals and where you go for districts. The Southeast district gets sent all over because not enough teams have 8 to be considered a team for who gets sent where. Thats why Goshen, have been sent to Stubenville in past or buckeye Local. Too many years when Southeast had only 12 or 13 teams (8 or more and the rest were considered schools with wrestling not a team). States are not a true team championship as with the example listed by Coalminers son. Three or four studs that win it or finish real high can get you a state championship. Unlike St. Paris Graham that had 13 placers last year. Warren finished 4th taking only five wrestlers in the late 80's.

So, this why the SE gets hosed every year on sectional district location? For example, last year Warren and Marietta went to Chillicothe for their sectional when there was one up I77 at Meadowbrook 45 minutes away. I guess that explains that.

The Parsons boy should be very tough in the near future. Hope he gets back to health.

From what I hear it looks like Warren is getting the numbers up,,,, and could be the sleeper. Now LETS ALL SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM AND HELP KEEP THE NUMBERS UP AND BE POSITIVE and Support the coaching staff, its not EVERYDAY WARREN GETS A OHIO STATE LETTERMAN AS A COACH!!! HE KNOWS WRESTLING, LETS DONT TURN THE WRESTLING PROGRAM LIKE THE FOOTBALL PROGRAM in YEARS PAST with ALL THE BACK STABBING, LOOK AT FOOTBALL THIS YEAR IF YOU LET THE COACHES COACH THEN YOU WILL HAVE RESULTS..... Aarron is the FIT FOR THIS PROGRAM LETS quit living n the past and focus on the future.... SO ALL of US Alumi lets root them on.... not talk bad and we can have the results we want...

Numbers are at 11 +/- right now and rumors are a few more will be with them soon. Most of them freshmen, maybe a junior coming back out as well. From what I'm told report cards did not hurt turnout. So could be at 14 or 15 real soon.
Somethings still have not changed that much with the other sport, but it is getting better.
Good luck to this years team, stay healthy, stay focused, keep pluggin away.

On the up side. Parsons has been seen without his sling and seems to be on the mend quicker that expected. He has been running and doing what he can in the mean time. Rumor has it that a freshman has been lost, but not due to grades, something outside.

Warren's off to a great start to the year. Keep it going fellows. I had my doubts about a SEOAL championship during the preseason. It seems very possible at this point.
