What i took from tonight...
Piketon and Unioto have the most talent by far, everybody else in the league is trying to compete with Coaching and execution.
Zane Trace...Beam got position all night and #15 for ZT can flat out shoot it. The defense for ZT consisted of a lot of fouling, could just be the preview.
Piketon... Loaded with talent, I think they are more talented this year, Lisath has another loaded squad. Moore could be an SVC POY type player. (They had B.J. Mullins on the staff!)
SE- 2 PG's that bring different skills to the table, Kellough is a knock down shooter, and Brown in the post. With the help of #33 in the paint. I can't imagine this team not being in the SVC hunt.
Huntington- They looked lethargic, but they have one of the best low post players in the League with the best 3 pt shooter.(gragg/vickers) Hall looks amazing, and they dominated scrimages earlier in the day.
Unioto- Best guard in the league in Murray. Maybe the best wing player in Warner, and the biggest post player in Detillion. Woods and the Arledge(sp) give them the biggest lineup in the SVC. I love their coaching staff, my pick for the SVC, love them as a whole!
Adena- They played hard, have some quickness at the guard spots, look to have a lot of inexperience in the coaching ranks. Might be able to compete later down the road.
PV- They play hard! Wolfe has them ready to battle, not the most talented but they will give fits to teams each night.
Westfall- Robertson is a 1st team caliber player and he might avg. in the 20s. Stonerock coming back is huge! This team could be a sleeper and Mink have a litte something up his sleeve!

League looked interesting at preview last night. Lot of new faces and lot of the usual.
When the smoke clears out of the kitchen so to speak, The Chef believes the Streaks will be right in the mix. Big home court advantage at The Oven and Coach L has a lot of experience. This will be a tough team to beat come tourney time. Here's hoping for another SVC title and return trip to Athens.
Go Streaks!

Coach L. is a sly fox holding out on his transfers in the preview....checking out the roster 6'2 Austin Buchanan and 6'2 Caleb Watkins didn't see the floor last night, but I'm told both can play and will bring an offensive punch to the line-up.

Piketon will be right at the top for the league again this year. Don't let the youth fool you, these kids know how to play and are very well coached. This years league games may be as even as any year. Lots of upsets waiting to happen.

No offense, but teams do scout, so if those two are going to make a big difference, it will only burn one team and that's Huntington, who also didn't show their hand at the preview(neither did Adena, PV, SE, Unioto, WF, or ZT for that matter)Jimmy the Greek wrote:Coach L. is a sly fox holding out on his transfers in the preview....checking out the roster 6'2 Austin Buchanan and 6'2 Caleb Watkins didn't see the floor last night, but I'm told both can play and will bring an offensive punch to the line-up.
Piketon should be very solid again this year, as Moore looked good coming off of that tough leg injury from the spring.

My top 3 is Piketon, Unioto, Zane Trace. My sleeper is Westfall now that Stonerock is now playing.

Dani, is Huntington not known for scouting?
I agree with Dani, Piketon is the only team that showed anything, and it wasn't much.
Bengalfan, it didn't look like Westfall has much in the way of guards?

Steady, Piketon doesn't play until they face Huntington next Friday, so Huntington won't be able to see the transfers for Piketon is all that I was saying. I hope there isn't a team out there that doesn't scout.
