Waverly vs Logan Elm
Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
Not sure what Logan Elm has this year , Im sure they are a well coached team and have some good shooters. Waverly needs to pick up the intensity on defense to be successful in this contest.

Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
Logan Elm has a little different team makeup this year than years past. They won't rely as much on sharp shooters from outside but more on the two bigs in the middle. Hauserman at 6'9 and Pritchard at 6'6. They are very well coached by Doug Stiverson. They have a crafty point guard in Adam Blake whom will probably look to score the basketball a little more this year. Waverly will have to stay out of foul trouble and keep the turnovers down as LE will really pressure the ball.

Pulling for the Pike County brother in this one. Kretzer will shoot the lights out of the gym if you dont get a hand in his face. And Roback is just an incrediable athlete. I havent seen there PG, but they say he can handle the rock pretty well. I say Waverly by 10.
Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
Hard to say because LE got a late start with the football team and lost two 1,000 career point scorers off of last year's team. LE will have a very solid team this year but will probably need a few games to get it all together. Should be a dandy with a nice Waverly team.

Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
I think this game will be a good one- you have to give the edge to Loan Elm, they made it to the final four last year- I hope Waverly considers themselves the underdog and play like they have nothing to lose. Game will be close as long as Waverly rebounds the ball.
One game doesn't make a season - but effort makes a season. The Tigers were beat a couple weekends ago up at Upper Arlington but they were short handed, but what they did well that Saturday was they played hard and overcame and as long as they do that this year -it will be a good year!

Logan Elm 55 Waverly 37
Good defensive and rebounding game for the Braves. Offense isn't quite there yet but there were some good things in the game with some balance. Braves host Amanda on Thursday.
Waverly has a nice athletic team that is going to win some games.

Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
Logan Elm might just be the best team Waverly plays this season. They don't have a weakness.
Last nights game reminded me of the Oak Hill game last year at Waverly. The Tigers struggled to get good shots against a quick and tenuous zone defense. But then again nearly everyone who played Logan Elm or Oak Hill last year had the some problem, as both teams made it to state......and Oak Hill won the state.
Waverly gained some valuable experience last night and will continue to improve.

Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
Waverly has alot of talent on their team, probably the most talent they have had in awhile. Waverly's coaches need to figure out an offense to run. No game plan.

The Tigers have talent but Logan Elm isnt a slouch. Will the starting lineup get shaken up after a few performances last night for Waverly? Defense looked good at times, but I agree witness, Waverly looked confused on offense last night. Heres to learning from this Tigers and moving on.

I agree about the offensive side of the ball, multiple times last year I thought they looked lost on offense. Thats completely irrelevant considering this is a different team, just saying I seen the same thing last year.

Re: Waverly vs Logan Elm
Logan Elm very well coached team, great ball movement, rebounded well, good pressure, kept it simple, very nice team. Waverly at times good d, I agree mostly lost on o, depth is an issue. They need an identity on o, find a couple of sets that you want to run against man, a couple you want to run against a zone and learn to do them well not 20 different sets that you cant run. The old adage less is more I think comes into play here, jmo.
Bright side is they definately have a point guard the Johnston kid is very impressive enjoyed watching him play.
