Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
How about Mount Union? Their football team is full players who were either a step too slow, an inch too short, or whatever reason DI coaches do not offer them scholarships.

lhs_iraq_vet wrote:You got it right osu*me......that is ridiculous. OU wants the reversal of what Pat deserves. They want a free ride from Pat instead of him getting a free ride from them. Besides Findlay, who in the heck is Edinborough and UV-Wise? I think it is ridiculous that no D1 school has made an offer. Even if it be an Akron, Marshall, or Bowling Green. What does a guy with his credibility and awards have to do? If he doesn't get an offer by signing day, I think he should attempt to walk on to a program.........but not at OU!
What's the difference?
None of those schools have or will offer him.
Ohio has called him so that makes them the bad guy cause the other guys haven't called at all?
So logic states that he walk-on to the school the farthest away from his home and family?
Makes no sense at all......unless one is on the Ohio University sucks at football and always will bandwagon.
Also if he's as good as everyone says then he should earn a scholly at Ohio with no problem.
Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
You clearly haven't seen him play and therefore have no idea what you are talking about. Do some research, then come back to state your case.
Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
Ohio wants a free player, wants gate tickets. If they aren't going to offer a scholarship, then why play there when someone else will offer him money to play, where he will play...a lot.
Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
whats pat 6'2 195 sound good to me,he should be getting all kind of d-2 offers then if not d-1.jon neff was getting 5or 6d-1 offers and pat cant get one dont make sense.

Ohio already has a commit from a QB.....and with a small class can't afford 2 QB's......and at DB they have 3 commits already with 2 of the guys 3 stars....and I don't know what you're talkin about since most of us have seen him play.
They show some interest in him and the other D1's don't yet Ohio gets thrown under the bus.....if he doesn't want to play D1 then fine....best of luck.....good kid....good athlete.

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
My thought is even though they were shown on STO and had more exposure than ever before this year, Logan is still considered by many to be a backwater school competing in a rural league. Also, Logan does not really promote their athletes to the big schools. Minus any regional championships, the school's athletes are not considered by the big schools unless you stand out as a physical specimen. I guarantee you if Pat were 6'-5" and 215 lbs, his phone would be ringing off the hook. So, he'll wait out the February signing day and then some DI or DII school will come in with an offer. I think he will do well at the next level. He IS going to play somewhere.

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
Doc Panther......you are right, OU did offer to another QB. Kyle Snyder (6'1", 201lbs, 4.52 40) from Barberton HS (DII Barberton, Ohio). He led his team to an outstanding record of 3W-7L. Started all 4 years racking up 5200 yards and 47 TDs. Nice stats, considering it took him 4 years to do it. Congrats to him for getting an offer at OU. It just goes to show that OU has some recruiting issues. Lets see..............young man 25 miles down the road whose 2 year stats are comparable, if not better, to another athletes 4 year stats. More importantly, the 2 year starter (Pat Angle) has hardware to add to his stats, both in the league, region, division, and state. Diagnose that for me Doc???
BTW, can anyone post Pat's career stats on this thread?
In response to Speedofsand........I believe his 40 time is between 4.5 and 4.6. That is something else to verify if someone has that information.

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
your teams record, stats, and awards has nothing at all to do with being recruited. the college coachs could care less. they want to see what you can do against other D-1 talent!!! bottom line. thats why you need to get to as many camps and combines as you can. and i also gotta chance to see snyder at the ohio varsity top 100 camp. he was by far the best QB there. i have heard he can run the ball very well also. should be a nice fit in OU,s offense

Any of them who keep up on the boards (Here) to get player feeds/info. all know they don't have to offer, 'cause nobody else is. Hmm?
Who's gonna bid full ride when there's not even a D-1 trip planned elsewhere? I didn't think of it before, but this thread could actually be hurting his chances.
I hope not.
He deserves something IMO.
Good luck.

Yea I don't think all the D-1 schools who are thinking about offering Pat a Scholorship is on here seeing what is being said about him!

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
How short memories are around here -- a couple of years ago, D-I Mentor produced QB Bart Tanski, who was voted All Ohio and Ohio's Mr. Football. He never received a D-I offer and ended up walking on at Bowling Green where he was red-shirted and still did not play this year as a Redshirt Frosh......................................................................
and remains off scholly.
And then there is the story of Ben Roelistberger from Findlay who played TE till his senior year when he switched to QB and got no offers until after NLOID day. At Miami ( Oh.) he wan't a quick star either, but came around and was drafted by the Steelers. Well, you know the rest of the story.
Patience !!

Young Mr. Angle will get offers. as long as he is happy where he goes and he gets a good education I think things will work out fine for him.

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
anyone know if the coaches are trying to help him get a scholly ?
I see avg. kids here in Fl. all the time getting offers. Any kid in Ohio, Florida, Texas, or Calif. who is All State should have an offer somewhere. With Angle's credentials, he should be a QB.
edit: It might also help if there was a 3 minute highlight tape of his senior season for scouts to look at.

Re: Any D-1 Offers for Logan's Patrick Angle?
So Ohio only has room for one QB comittment and the kid from Barberton was a mistake?
Hmmmmm.......he sucks because it took him 4 years to put up big numbers?
OK......as a Freshman he was a 1st team All League QB....how many of those floating around.
Let's see what a coach from a decent program like Kent Roosevelt says about him:
Kent Roosevelt football coach John Nemec had a two- word answer when asked what concerned him the most about Barberton's offense.
"The quarterback," the veteran coach responded without hesitating.
Nemec's defense didn't hesitate much Friday, swarming over the Magics and quarterback Kyle Snyder in a dominating 28-7 victory in a nonleague game at Roosevelt Stadium.
"The kid is a player, a good one," Nemec said of Snyder before his team improved to 3-0 and handed the Magics their first loss of the season with an impressive defensive showing.
I could go on but it would be futile.....it would have been nice if Ohio had enough schollies to be able to allow 2 QB's this year but their recruiting class is small partially because of the schollies they have given to some of their walk-ons....many from SE and Central Ohio like:
Storm Timson-Pataskala
Eric Benjamin-Grove City
Joey Inks-West Jefferson
Kevin Culver-Thornville
J.B. Strahler-Hilliard
Nic Barber-Newark
Miles Schlichter-Washington Court House
Adam Alderman-Granville
Ian Elmore-Groveport
A.J. Oxley-Pickerington
...and those are just some of the upper classman walk-ons as there no doubt will be more when the freshman class enrolls this fall.
