I didn't have a dog in the fight either. I was a neutral fan there watching a great game.

Great game by both teams. Trojans just had too many turnovers and that helped Valley back in the game. That and Utley being lights out from behind the arc along with never die attitude. Valley opened and ended the game with the lead. It may of only been about 45 seconds combined that they had the lead all night but it was when it mattered most. Congrats to the Indians and best of luck vs Peebles. Get out on those THREES Justice and Co. are some definite shooters. As for Portsmouth GREAT season and you have nothing to be ashamed of! A winning season, alot of young talent coming up, a great staff the program is on the UP! To the seniors THANK YOU! You have gone through the toughest times in Portsmouth Basketball and have helped orchestrated the rebuilding of Portsmouth Basketball. Forrest, Patrick, London, Isaiah, and Tory I wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors and thanks for the memories.

GOOD LUCK ALL AREA TEAMS STILL PLAYING

Congratulations to the Valley Indians on the win......simply put, VHS made the plays down the stretch and the Trojans did not........I said before the game on this thread that the Trojans had a tendency to not put teams away, and last night it happened again.......but this time it resulted in the Indians rallying to win and ending PHS's season.

TOO MANY 3 POINTERS BY VALLEY!!.........We simply did not defend the 3 pointer hard enough......we gave the Valley kids too many open looks.......the 23 turnovers by PHS hurt, but I think the 3 pointers hurt us even more. Despite the turnovers, we still had a 15 point lead at one point.......the 3 pointer helped bring the Indians back!!

Despite our foul situation, IF WE DEFEND THE 3 POINTERS BETTER, WE WIN THE GAME!!........even with 23 turnovers, IF WE DEFEND THE 3 POINTERS BETTER, WE WIN THE GAME!! I understand that there will be a few 3's made during the course of a game, but we let the Indians make way too many!!.........and with a 15 point lead, that's when you should really clamp down on the 3.........

Looking back on the season, I am VERY PROUD of our kids for the first winning season since 2002.......I feel bad to see our seniors not get the opportunity to play at the Convo.......still, our kids had some good wins........Ironton, Warren, Chesapeake, and Wheelersburg.......and a 10-4 record in the SEOAL.

Coach Collins and his staff turned our program around from 52-100 to 12-7 and for that they deserve a LOT OF PRAISE!!.........we have some good talent coming back.........I would like to see us next year defend shooting teams better on the perimeter.........the Valley game was a fatal lesson about that.

Great win by Valley! I agree Dave, you have to defend the 3 better...I thought PHS lacked the intensity they brought when they played chesy and Ironton..Valley hit the big shots...When PHS went inside they were money, just not enough touches by Underwood and Mckinley in second half.

If you go back and look, I also said that Valley had been down NUMEROUS times by 10+ in the second half and come back to win...

Was the Porstmouth players in the gym when Bendolph did the same thing to Oak Hill? Between him and Utley, it was a showcase of three point shooting breathing life back into a team.

I've been in the O-Zone at OU and the Valley chant would've been bad even by those standards.

Shouldn't those numbers in the subject line be reversed? I could swear Valley won the game I listened to last night.

Yeah, that's what I was getting ready to post...according to the thread subject, the score shows the Trojans winning this game...even though we all know Valley won already...

very nice win for valley, utley was on fire in the fourth i think he made 4 or 5 three's..i thought the only way portsmouth loses this game was to beat themselves and i think they did. way to many turnovers, missed free throws and layups...if portsmouth ever learns to play possesion basketball they could be scary

Portsmouth players were in teh gym in the 1st half and in the doorway watching in the second half....they watched their buddy from 12 points down to Oak HIll pull off a big upset....but then didn't learn from what Bendolph showed them and then let it happen to them.

Killer instinct was not there and star player let his emotions get the better of him the majority of the comeback....Forrest just rotted on the bench.

I know the big guys did a nice job....but Horne swished 3 3's early on and then shot very few tiems for a long while and he didn't get his looks IMO....offense was to gt the big guys underneath and IMO took Horne out of his game.

another unsung player on friday for valley was coleman who imo did his best to take up space and tried to rebound on a very bum ankle and he gutted it out and played solid defense underneath. it pained me to watch him run or try to jump valley missed the length of dwyer and his quickness on the elblow in the zone he was out with a sprained ankle .

Well Trojan fans it is time to put a log on the ole fireplace and root for the local teams that are still playing..Coach C. did a great job of getting PHS back in the game (for the season) hope he stays for a while and get the Trojans back to where they need to be...PHS has to realize that by walking onto the court teams are going to fold---those days are long gone! The Trojans will be back and they will be a team to be reckoned with....btw,,still do not understand why the SOC does not want PHS......This old Trojan will be reading all the great posts the rest of the season,,thanks PFloyd, bigdog, oldtrojan, tobais and so many others for keeping those of us that live so far away we
do not the the pleasure of going to the games.....
