Re: district tournament at Valley
Green at #2 is joke. I'm glad the SOC coaches got together once again to get what was best for them. How can anyone argue Green being above Manchester, Whiteoak or Fairfield? Let's hear it.
Whichever SOC school had the best record was goig to be the one placed above the trio of Manchester, WO and Fairfield to ensure the #4 and #5 seeds would be SHL teams squaring off like they do every year...and then the winner must face the best team in South Webster. I can't even believe SOC bigger school SW was a part of this. They had the #1 regardless (and earned it). SW was going to have to face one solid SHL school to get out anyways...so nothing it in for them. Green avoids playing SW and gets a 4 win team in their first game and the 4 win team East...you know they wanted Green as their 1st game opposed to Manchester or Whiteoak, Clay if they can get past Manchester (which they've seen in scrimmage) will just need to beat East or Green to get to the sectionals. COmparing the schedules is a laugher...South Webster, Whiteoak, Manchester and Fairfield are all battle tested for the. tournament......the other teams just load up with the smallest D4 schools around.......kudos on fixing the seeds once again to work over the SHL....congrats.

I'll take South Webster and Manchester
If Whiteoak or Fairfield would've been the #2 or #3....they would be the other team...they both have the high ability to beat SW...but SW is the favorite and they have earned it.

i always love the whining at this time of the year
yes green is a bad 2 seed but how do you know how the voting went
lets see i imagine it went something like this
whiteoak votes for whiteoak for 2. manchester votes for manchester for 2. green votes for green for 2. fairfield votes for fairfield for 2. are you saying shl teams wouldnt vote for shl teams if given the chance? so is it a surprise that a few soc teams may have voted for soc teams
current scenario
whiteoak-fairfield winner beats south webster and manchester beats green then shl have two teams at the district
what else could the shl want with only two teams coming out
maybe those voting should have put all the shl teams at 1, 4, and 5

I would say that it went more like this - the 6 SOC 1 schools (already having got together) voted Green #2. And so on down the line. They set it up so that there two hottest teams (Clay/Green) get a chance at knocking off Manchester, allowing them to get one team to District because they knew that they had zero chance against Southwebster. Sound about right to you?

yes...the SHL teams likely voted for themselves at the highest possible seed....which was #2......what do you think all the SOC schools voted? I bet many voted for Green #2.....which if true is a joke.

Re: district tournament at Valley
ironman: good call that all this had no bearing on South Webster because if Green was put as the #5 seed where they should be, they'd lost to whatever SHL team they'd played in the 4/5 game regardless. Again, Manchester should be ECSTATIC with this seeding. It just kind of irks me as a Webster fan when you have a 12-3 record and are the #1 seed, and the #3 seed has an easier path to Districts than you do. I have no idea where South Webster's coach voted Green, but I guarantee where all of the SOC I schools voted them and it's a joke. Those three SHL teams would be somewhere around 15-3 or 16-2 playing an SOC I schedule like Green.
Us conspiracy theorists were discussing this exact scenario happening two weeks ago, and sure enough, it did. But the truth comes out in the wash, and when Green hooks up with Manchester, we'll see if the SOC I coaches were justified.*

Re: district tournament at Valley
I wonder if the voters took into consideration that Green had make up games to play against Peebles, Eastern Pike and Symmes Valley. They should have had 3 more losses on their record if they hadn't been snowed out, and they have 2 less games on their record than most other teams.
Re: district tournament at Valley
you can't really consider that..but I don't think they considered much of anything other than putting them #2

Re: district tournament at Valley
Like I said in another thread, the SHL has put the screws to the SOC before in the past. Manchester just hasn't been has cooperative lately from what I've been told. The whining is quite sad. If the all-powerful SHL schools are as good as they believe (clearly prepared from the superior strength of schedule) then what does it matter? Only two get out anyway ( again I think we can blame Manchester for not having a clue how many kids they have). If the three SHL schools were seeded 2-4, what does it change? The 4 would still have to face Webster for a sectional title. The 2 and 3 (an SHL matchup assuming they advance) would still have to face each other for a sectional title. I am sure that Manchester is thrilled about their prospects and have no complaints at all with their draw. I bet Whiteoak or Fairfield wouldn't have any arguments if they were in that position. This was about the only possible scenario that allows an SHL school to get to district without playing Webster or any of the other 2 SHL schools........

Re: district tournament at Valley
Its an awesome bracket for Manchester. You were asking what is the difference if they were seeded where they shoud be #2-4. The difference is that South Webster would be playing a SHL school to go to District (probably Fairfield) and Manchester and Whiteoak would be playing the other Sectional Final. That is the difference. No, zero, SOC 1 schools would have been in the finals.

Re: district tournament at Valley
Only two get out.......Webster will be playing an SHL team to go to District. Manchester will be playing a little old SOC I school in the other Sectional final. Do you think that Manchester, Whiteoak, Fairfield would rather play a little SOC I school for a Sectional title, or each other? Do your homework before you type.

Whiteoak will beat Fairfield for a 3rd time. Farfield is not playing at a high level at this time. They were blown away by Peebles and Eastern. White Oak also held them scoreless the 1st quarter last week.
