Peebles by far. They may have a couple thousand that live in the town but they will probably shut down town that day to support "The Indians" to beat those not so much purple indians. lol

Re: Who will have the best following to Athens?
The announcers at the last game tonight (Alexander vs. Eastern Brown) stated that there are around 2,000 people in attendance. I know earlier in the day with the fans that do the all day thing you would have a few more at those games but you would think with Alexander being right there 10 minutes away you would have a lot more people there if only for the fact that they are located in Athens county, other TVC fans attending and so forth. Also, usually when a team travels on a long trip to Districts or Regionals they bring half the county, especially on a Saturday. I don't know but that seems like a low number but maybe with the economy being the way it is and all people just don't have the resources to attend events such as this.

Wheelersburg had a huge crowd there tonight for the first game against Belpre and was probably double size of the Belpre crowd and they only had a 30 minute drive. The Burg filled up the entire side along the bottom section and quite a bit of the top section and Belpre barely filled up there corner section.

Burg had a great following there tonight.
Alexander, for as close as they are, that was a pretty sad crowd. Eastern's wasn't very large either. That could have alot to do with them being 2-2 1/2 hrs away.

LAST NIGHTS BIGGEST CROWD AWARD WOULD HAVE TO GO TO WHEELERSBURG ... SORRY, BUT I FORGOT MY CAMERA - BUT AS A NON-BIAS OBSERVER THE 'BURG HAD MORE FANS THAN ANY OF THE 4 TEAMS.

I agree with Burg having the best size crowd. Overall, however, I have been disappointed with the size of crowds at the convo games this years compared to past years. I could be wrong, but it doesn't appear that they are as large as in past years to me.

An hour before game time tonight there was Peebles Indian red everywhere in the convo! By game time about 3/4 of the place was a sea of red.

When was the last time Peebles was in a district final ? I remember back in the early 80's they played against Racine Southern a couple of times I believe when they were "A" and the districts were in Chillicothe at the high school and the regionals for "A" were at the Convo and not in Columbus as they are now for the Southeast DIV winner.

I'm thinking the last time in the district finals may well have been the last time Coach Lawhorn was at Peebles? Maybe 98?

The classic "Sea of Red" was there tonight just thinking about that is amazing. To see that many fans in such a small town support a team like Peebles.

Agreed, for a school that is borderline D-4 we sure did a good job of making Valley's following look small.

Totally agree with you both here! As little of a town that Peebles is the following at the Convo was pretty sweet (3/4 of the lower section was RED)!. Its gonna remain this way too as long as the Indians keep climbing... one game at a time!
