Dotel blows the save in the bottom of the 10th. Bucs have lost 22 of their last 24 road games.
Got to bounce back Saturday.
No, its not hockey season yet. But the Pens may win more games than the Bucs.

Completely God awful! Might have been the worst ending to a game this year.Just makes you want to vomit! Got to get back at it tomorrow.

Bucs get 3 runs on 7 hits. Brewers had 4 on 9. Both teams had 2 solo homeruns.
Buccos have now hit 14 solo homeruns since their last homerun with a man on base, June 8th against Strasburg. We have a hard time scoring more than 1 run in any given inning.
How many swinging 3rd strikes did we make on curve balls in the dirt? I think 6. We need a new hitting coach.
Really need to win on Sunday before the break.

Seriously, if I were Russell, I would change room mates on the next road trip. We went 0-6 on this one and have only won 11 road games this year. They have to shake something up. 30-58 overall, 19-20 at home, 11-38 on the road.
After the break, 10 homes games against Astros (3), Brewers (4) and Padres (3). We need to finish the second half of the season with a 500 record for the rest of our games.

First win this season for the Bucs against the Astros. Also our best hitting night of the season, 12 runs on 17 hits. Hope we can win Sunday to take 2 of 3. Oswalt on the mound for Houston. Could be a tough row to hoe.

Bucs take 2 of 3 from the Astros as every part of the game clicked for them.
Maholm had a complete game, 3 hit shutout as he pitched to only 3 batters over the minimum.
Bucco bats pounded out a season high 19 hits and we actually got our first homerun since June 8 that wasn't a solo shot!
An extra portion of rum for all after these 2 games of offensive firepower.
Brewers come to town for 4 games. Lets keep those Buccos batting pounding the ball and pay the Brewers back.

Alvarez gets a 1st inning grand slam to get the ball rolling and the Brewers committ 3 errors in the span of 6 pitches. Bucco bats pound out 11 hits.

Pedro and the Buccos are en fuego right now...Pedro had two more home runs tonight in a 15-3 win over the Brewers. This team is looking much better...What do you see as far a moves go at the deadline Mister B?

Teams in contention are looking for pitching right now.
Mets appear to be interested in Dotel. Thats ok because Meek will be the closer next season.
Pirates getting calls about Hanrahan but they are asking alot for him. I am glad because I would hate to see him go.
Carrasco getting some calls too. Low salary and he is signed thru 2012.
Neil Huntington says Pirates are no longer looking for prospects, they want everyday players who are major league ready in return. I agree.
Pirates could be players in the trade department before the deadline. This time, it is the other teams who are wanting our players. I hope we are smart if we do make trades.

Mister B, Did you see Teke play at Marietta College? Former Pirate manager Jim Tracy played there too...I know you live up that way thought maybe you may have seen them back in the day..

Teke, yes. My dad took me to several MC college games to watch him play. His submarine delivery was copied by alot of kids around this area when he was at MC and the Pirates.
Never saw Tracey play but he was a good one, All-America I think. Never did much as a pro player.

Testy game with hit batters on both sides. Fielder should have been tossed in the 8th for his collison at the plate. Came in high with both fists clenched and shoved into the jaw of Kratz, the Bucs cather, who held onto the ball for the out.
Padres come to town for 3. Need to take 2 of 3 but it will be tough to do.

I dont like the Brewers to start with...They are a team full of punks and Fielder is the biggest... I still like our team right now...Hopefully we can get the bats going again v.SD.

Padres win all 3 games for the sweep.
Contrast of teams...the 2 lowest payrolls in the NL, SD and Pittsburgh. SD is 19 games above 500 and the Pirates are 30 below.
On to Denver and St. Louis for 3 games each. I would love to see us go 3-3 this road trip.

What did you think of the demotion of Lincoln and the release of Donnelly? I think maybe we brought Lincoln up too soon...If you remember right, we brought him up the same week as Strasburg,and I think we thought we would catch fire in a bottle like they did.As for Donnelly,it seems they are making him the scape goat which is the furthest thing from the truth.They just didn't want to pay him his performance bonuses.
