Bucs get only their 12th win of the season on the road. Hopefully, this will carry over to the remaining road games.

Glad Lincoln went down to Indy. He had a good attitude about it. He needs some positive results and needs to get the fastball up from 90 to about 95 mph. You could be right about Donnelly.

Bucs starting pitcher takes a line drive off the side of his head in the first and the Bucco bullpen is up to the task as they use 6 pitchers in the win. Ohlendorf was taken to the hospital but appears to be ok.

Buccos brought the lumber as they had 11 hits and 2 home runs, both by Garrett.

Lets go for the road sweep.

Jimenez was excellent for the Rockies. Still, we won 2 of 3 on the road, not bad for us.

On to St. Louis for 3 against the Cards. Would be great to take 2 of 3 there.

Cards 1 Pirates 0 in 10.

Both starting pitchers, Karstens and Carpenter, threw great games. Pirates get 5 hits and the Cards 9 hits.

Bucco catcher Kratz throws out 3 Cards who try to steal on him. Great job by the 30 year old rookie!

Cards win it in the 10th on a broken bat single. Tough luck for the Bucs who were 0-2 with men in scoring position.

Need to bounce back in game 2 today.

Pirates seem to have some nice hitting but pitching is very in consistent.

Bucs slowly let this one slip away from them until the Reds put it out of reach with a bix inning in the 6th. Right now, there isn't much in the Bucco bullpen after Meek and Hanrahan since the trades.

Rockies come to town for 4 games. We need to at least split the series.

We got beat by a punchin judy hitter today in janish...It's one thing to lose when somebody like rolen goes deep on you, but yet another when something like that happens...We picked up Chan Ho Park off waviers...Dont think it will help exept for some leadership which we need.I just dont get trading off veteran pitchers just a week ago and now signing them off waiver wires...Why not keep what we had? And why on earth didn't the Phillies have any interest in Dotel? Seems like that would have made more sense...

New Bucs pitcher James McDonald gets the start and goes 6 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 8 Ks and 1 BB on 89 pitches. Nice job.

2 Bucco blasts by Garrett and Cedeno spot the early lead and the Bucs use 5 pitchers to get the win.

1 problem, using 5 pitchers. McDonald is in only his second start ever as he came out of the pen so I can understand why he only went 6 innings, but to use 4 more pitchers over 3 innings is a stretch for me.

I know we are going to spend the rest of the year putting folks into the games to see how they perform, but how about lets start teaching a young club to win and let the minor leaguers do their stuff in the minors instead of the majors. The losing seasons will never end until the organization and the players start focusing on winning and not so much on bringing players up for a cup of coffee to see if we can catch lighting in a bottle from an unknown.

Game 2 tomorrow. Another Pirate win would be nice.

We won one of those tonight with a walk off three run Home Run from rookie Pedro Alvarez...He's really starting to look like the REAL deal! 8-7 FINAL in 10 INNINGS over Colorado. Glad to hear you gave it up...Former Pirate manager Jim Leyland was pretty much a chain smoker,he would even light up in the dugout....And those were good Pirate teams for the most part too...God help him if he were still on our bench...
