The only negative in winning two of three v.stl was we helped the reds...not good but not bad I guess...you gotta try to beat who's on the schedule.luckily we only have three more games with stl.

D. McCutchen pitched 6 solid innings. Walker with a base clearing triple and Jones had a solo blast for good measure. Bullpen was shaky in the 7th, our starters really need to start getting 7 innings instead of 6, but the BP gets out of it and then Hanrahan and Meek close the deal.
Nice to take 2 of 3 from the Cards. Reds only able to pick up 1 game from it so no major damage.
On to Milwaukee. Maybe we can get a few wins on this road trip. McDonald on the hill for the Burgh.

Brewers sweep the 3 game series at Miller Park.
Bucs get 4 runs on 3 homers, 2 of them solo shots. Bucs also gave starter Charlie Morton a 2 run 1st inning lead but he gave up 3 in the bottom of the first.
Buccos are an impressive 44 games below 500. Of course, we are going to stay the course and keep manager John Russell who was only 19 games below 500 when it was announced he was coming back for next year. We have played 25 games below 500 ball since that announcement.
This was our 13 straight road loss.
Need a win in a bad way.

Pathetic is the only word that sums up this series....John needs to go.... Evan Meek is lucky to only have a bruised hand after getting drilled by Ryan "bug eyes" Braun's line drive.

Last nights game was not only pathetic but embarassing as well... A 14-2 trashing by the Cubs...Someone a little higher up needs to take the fall for this pathetic season, and that's John Russell...We gave him a little rope,but someone has to be accountable for this other than the bench coach and pitching coach.I think in firing them they thought it would send and signal to the fans that they care...but obviously they dont..

Russell almost blows a 14-2 lead after 6 by pulling Karstans who was pitching well. Starters need to go more than 6 innings to strenghten the arm. Karstans should not have been pulled, IMO.
This win stops a 14 game road losing streak and is the first and only road win for the Bucs in August, disgusting.
Pirate ownership needs to convince the fans that they are committed to winning and fire Russell, eat the last year of his contract and do it before the end of the road trip. Name an interm manager for the rest of the year and start looking for a new manager in the off season.
Russell should be managing every game from now to the end of the season like it is the 7th game of the World Series and teach these young players how to win instead of looking at players in situations, that is what spring training is for.
Need to win tomorrow to take the series. Bucs hold a 10-5 record vs the Cubs this year and are 5-1 at Wrigley.

Another miserable series...The Bucs lost two of three v.Wash.The only real bright spot was the Maz statue unveiling today.This team is getting REAL HARD to watch.

I did enjoy the tribute to Mazeroski and the addition of his statue, the 4th Bucco with a full size statue around baseball's best park. Hopefully, in the near future Pittsburgh can say they have the best team too.

Both starting pitchers did well but a 5 run burst in the 7th knocked Hudson from the game and J-Mac gets the win for the Buccos.
Lets break out the brooms and get a rare series sweep for the Black and Gold.

Zach Duke throws batting practice to the Braves.
Ugly game by the Bucs. Dugout is crammed with the 40 man roster now. Russell will be playing unknowns the rest of the season meaning a 105+ loss season may very well happen. 47-92 right now with 23 games left.
3 game series in Cincy starting friday. Hope we can make the Reds work for their title and not just go through the motions the rest of the schedule.

Once again the Pirates snatch defeat from the jaws of victory as they blow a great comeback after taking the lead in the 8th, give up the tying run in the 9th and have Votto hit the walkoff HR in the 10th. I want to puke.

One has to wonder what Dusty Baker is doing. The Reds are limping into the post-season by needing extra innings on back to back nights to beat the worst team in baseball and then choke in the 9th on your own field.

Another brutal game last night...We are making an average team like the Mets look like world champions.When are we going to cut bait with Duke? The Mets took batting practice off of him last night.And that's been the theme for him of late.He's a good guy but maybe a change would do him and the Pirates some good...
