That's funny Jimmy - like both schools need another rival. Both of these schools have long histories with a lot of different schools.

bengalfan, I'm told they had Legg, Brush, Moore, Braniff, Brabson, and 3 kids that did not play last year, but no names were given, although one of them played well inside.

Redstreaks go 0-4 at Miami....two tough early morning losses to Middletown and Kings High School. I thought we bounced back and played well and hard in the afternoon vs Corydon, Indiana losing at the buzzer and Cincinnati Oak Hills. Although we were missing some key players, I thought our young kids played hard and showed some toughness against some very good competition. I was pleased with our progress and feel we are headed in the right direction.

Those are all big schools aren't they Coach L? Isn't Middletown and Oak Hills in the same league as Moeller and Princeton and schools like that? There's more kids in those schools than The Chef feeds in a month here in The Village.

Good to hear the Streaks are progressing and working hard. Glad to hear some roundball news. This time of year is so boring and it's awful lonely here in The Oven. The World Cup is good and the US got gipped, but need some basketball.

We were a little sluggish last night in the Portsmouth Summer League, however we went 2-0 vs Lewis & Boyd County, Kentucky. We are at the Shawnee State Shootout on Friday.

It was great to see almost 30 people at open gym last night. That is the attitude I love to see....even a few came over after football workouts.

Chef,

The biggest thing I see is maturity...I feel the lack of maturity last year cost us some close games. The kids are becoming students of the game and beginning to understand game strategy and the importance of team chemistry.

I love how we "stay in the battle" and not give up, even at Miami vs. DI schools, we played hard all summer long.

Surprises: We have excellent shooters....we shot lights out in a few games this summer. That will certainly open things up for Evan Legg who drew double teams all last year. Keenan Brush has improved his offensive game, again that will help us be more creative offensively. Craigen Moore, Zack Farmer, Isaac Brabson, Colton Williams showed maturity in the heat of the battle especially in the Portsmouth Summer League. Robbie Evans returned after missing the past two seasons due to injuries. Jacob Braniff looked awesome offensively at Rio Grande, and appears to be ready for a great season. Jared Vulgamore joined us late do to summer baseball, however picked right up from where he left off last season before his ankle injury. Tyler Spencer and Jeremy Farmer traveled with us and did a nice job coming off the bench when needed. I expect others to contribute as well, some missed summer ball due to injuries or other reasons. I expect to have a deep talented team.

Expectations: Tough schedule, so we will have to be ready from day 1.....I'm sure we will be a fun team to watch, and probably the fastest and quickest team I've coached in my 6 seasons at Piketon.

Coach L: you mention a tough challenging schedule. Could you list officially our non league schedule? Th Chef likes to know who'll be coming into the Oven andwhere the Streaks travel to. If its like past years, it'll be tough and loaded with larger schools.
