The Pittsburgh Penguins will host the Washington Capitols at Heinz Field.
Personally, I was hoping it would be at PNC Park and setup much the same way Fenway was done. Still, should be a sweet game if the weather holds.
LETS GO PENS!!!

The Pens played the Sabres in the first Winter Classic in Buffalo. Snow falling. It looked like a snow globe.
Bruins and Flyers at Fenway in OT. Good game. Even better because the Flyers lost.
I also see where Calgary will host Montreal on Feb 20 outside. February in Calgary, that will be cold.

This is a great concept for a game, but I wish they wouldn't dissect their potential
viewership by putting it on the High Holy Day of College Football.

Re: January 1, 2011
I'm guessing they picked the football stadium over the baseball stadium because of increased seating capacity. Fenway and Wrigley are iconic enough that the smaller venues made them more attractive than larger football fields in Boston or Chicago, but PNC is one of the smallest baseball stadiums in MLB (like Wrigley and Fenway) but it isn't historical, so those factors combined are probably why the game will be at Heinz.
It should be a great game. I love the Winter Classic!!!
