St Iggy is way down this year but I understand what you're saying. It will be tough for any D5 team to stay within a couple of touchdowns of them.

8/26 H East Technical (0-6) [2:6] W 40-0
9/4 H Bethlehem Catholic (PA) (2-4) [4:0] W 50-14
9/10 H Lake Catholic (6-1) [2:5] W 14-10
9/17 H Bedford (1-6) [2:6] W 33-15
9/24 A Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (1-6) [3:9] W 53-14
10/2 H St Thomas Aquinas (3-4) [5:17] W 52-14
10/8 H St Charles (5-2) [2:7] W 49-20

Ursiline is good I'm sure, but they have only beaten 2 teams with winning records.

Yea but they are 3-4 And isn't that great of a d1 team on the other hand I don't see how Ursuline is in d5 in the first place they play a d5 team in there region the whole season

Steubenville went 6-0 against non Ohio schools then are 0-2 against ohio schools. And yes, Ursiline is one.

Wow. Big Red is a premier team in the entire state. They play so many out of state teams because D3's in Ohio won't play them. They are down this year but down to them still means winning the region.

Also, people on this site put a lot of stock in Drew Pasteur's website. Look at his Fantastic 50. Ursuline is rated the #6 team in the state regardless of divisions.

The way it's shaping up if burg beats valley and oak hill eons out they have the top spot but if alley wins out they will if oak hill loses any of the last 2 games they have a slim chance of hosting

There are a few games Joe Eitel has that were reported different, like Piketon and Southeastern Ross. Eitel has Piketon winning this 14-13, does anyone know if this is correct or not?

Here is a little estimate I did quickly....

If Valley beats Wheelersburg and Oak Hill wins...and NY beats Alexander and Adena wins

1. Fredricktown 19.32
2. Oak Hill 19.31
3. Valley 18.33
4. Coal Grove 16.56
5. Nelsonville 15.10
6. Monroe Central 15.06
7. Ridgewood 14.94
8. Adena 14.04
9. Minford 13.95
10. Caldwell 13.93
11. Burg 10.80

If Burg beats Valley, Oak Hill loses, and both Nelsonville and Adena lose, it should be close to this...

1. Fredricktown 19.32
2. Coal Grove 16.56
3. Oak Hill 15.85
4. Valley 15.19
5. Monroe Central 15.07
6. Ridgewood 14.94
7. Burg 14.74
8. Caldwell 13.933
9. Minford 13.45

Nelsonville and Adena must win this week or I think it is 9 teams for 8 spots.

There is some speculation that goes into this, but these are fairly educated guesses. Right now, Joe has Minford's points wrong. He has Piketon beating Southeastern and being 7-1. They actually lost, 16-14.

Who gets in and who plays who comes down to a handful of games...

Week 9

New Richmond @ Oak Hill
Wheelersburg @ Valley
Ridgewood @ Strasburg-Franklin ( I assumed a Wood victory in all my calculations. I think they are out with a loss)
Alexander @ Nelsonville
Piketon @ Adena

Week 10

Minford @ Valley
Wheelersburg @ West
Athens @ Nelsonville

Now, having said all that there are a lot of games with defeated opponents that could change things a bit. Also, Crooksville and Liberty Union could potentially throw a huge wrench into everything with wins over Sheridan and West Jefferson respectively.

Should be fun the next couple of weeks.

Anyone that will be at any of my so-called "key games" this week that would like to exchange text updates, just pm me your cell numbers and we can all keep each other updated Friday.

IMO, the most likely scenario is: Burg wins out, Oak Hill wins out, Valley beats Minford....

Eitel is updated with Southeastern beating Piketon. Coal Grove moves up to 4th and Minford drops to 5th place. Adena goes to 10th and Wheelersburg drops to 11th.

Week 9 projections. Included are the total number of beaten opponent wins a team will end up with based on my projections. It's tough to assign a point value to a beaten opponent, but in general they could be worth about .4 pts each.

1 FREDERICKTOWN (10-0) 22.50
Could be leap frogged for top spot, but certainly all but guaranteed to have a home game in week 11. Beaten opponent wins: 46.

2 VALLEY (9-1) 20.10
Great win for Valley last week. I do have them losing 1 of their remaining two (Wheelersburg). If they win out they will likely be the top seed depending on how Oak Hill finishes. If they lose both they'll probably finish out of the playoffs. I have them #2 in this scenario, but as you can see #2 though #6 are so close in points that they could finish anywhere in those slots based on how I have it. Beaten opponents wins: 36.

3 COAL GROVE (9-1) 19.76
As I said last week, they needed to root against the SOC II teams in order to host. Well, Valley won so for now that puts a huge question mark on the Grove's hosting status. Keep rooting against Valley, and Wheelersburg. I'm still showing them hosting but they're hanging by a thread. Oak Hill could leap frog them, and Wheelesburg easily could. Beaten opponent wins: 35

4 WHEELERSBURG (8-2) 19.70
I have them winning out. If they finish 7-3 they'll likely finish out of the playoffs making little difference which team they would lose to. Beaten opponent wins: 36.

5 OAK HILL (8-2) 19.45
I still have them losing to New Richmond. If they win that all but clinches a home game in week 11, and they'd probably leap frog Fredericktown for the top spot (Valley could beat the Oaks out of the top spot if the Indians win out). Obviously as I said above, they are guranteed no home game if they lose to New Richmond as a lot of teams are very close. Beaten opponent wins: 39.

6 NELSONVILLE-YORK (8-2) 19.21
I'm not completely confident the N-Y can win out, although I'm going with them to do so. If they do win out I think they'll finish no worse than the 6th seed, but can leap frog into a hosting position if things go right for them. If they lose one more they are out of the playoffs at 7-3. Beaten opponent wins: 36.

7 RIDGEWOOD (10-0) 18.00
So long as they win out (Garaway gave them a scare) they should be in. I don't think they will host without a LOT of help. They could finish in the 8th spot, but anybody that could leap frog them will knock somebody above below them, so I think they are ok. Beaten opponent wins: 37.

8 MONROE CENTRAL (8-2) 17.90
They should win out, and I believe will be in the same position as Ridgewood in that anybody that leap frogs them should knock another team out. Their position could improve if somebody like N-Y loses a game (which is very possible). Crooksville could put a scare to them if they beat Sheridan this week, but wow that would be a MAJOR upset. All in all, even though they are sitting in the precarious #8 seed here they have a firm grip on it. Beaten opponent wins: 38.

9 CALDWELL (9-1) 16.65
Caldwell is a victim of the Valley win over P. West. Caldwell still can make it. Root for Alexander or Athens to beat Nelsonville. OR P. West to beat Wheelersburg. There's still a lot of possibilities for Caldwell to make it, but at this point they need some help. Beaten opponent wins: 35.

10 ADENA (7-3) 15.85
Unless they get a lot of help I think the fall a little short. Easiest thing to say is hope for Nelsonville to specifically lose to Alexander, and Wheelersburg to lose to P. West, while Valley loses both games. Even if that all happens I would still expect Valley to finish ahead of Adena. They probably need a team ahead of them to lose a game they shouldn't. i.e. Monroe Central losing to Frontier this week. Beaten opponent wins: 30.

11 MINFORD (7-3) 14.85
I have them losing to Valley. If they beat Valley they should finish with around 19.12 pts which would put them close to the hosting range. Long shot that they'd be able to host. Beaten opponent wins: 27.

Others with a punchers chance:
Crooksville- Major upset against Sheridan might get them in, but even that won't guarantee them a spot.
Liberty Union- Upset over undefeated West Jeff in week 10, and a lot of major help from above and they could land a spot. Not likely though.

I hate your scenario selonmc lol. 9-1 and no playoffs would be such a shame. Guess that's how things play out sometimes. The next two weeks should be very interesting.
