Week 1 - Coal Grove vs. Meigs

Post by 2trap_4ever »

How does it end. Last year was a 44-42 barn burner, do we get another close game this year.

I just have a feeling it will be close due to the trip, but I hope I am wrong.

^^^^^ Not to sound smart but it isn't exactly play-off traveling distance, is the district trying to save money and making the kids push the bus to the game or something?

Meigs lost a good bit from a team that should not have pushed a playoff caliber CG team like they did at home last year. CG should win this one easily, if not.........lookout when it comes to Athens.

during the playoffs your not traveling in 90 degree heat either. I hope we do have an easy game but I never take the first game of the season lightly, anything can happen.

Will Post after I see what Meigs can do with the Blue Devils tonite. I heard that they didn't look that good against Jackson. If that is the case CG should have no problems.... Long time Meigs fan. Boy that was hard to say...

The Grove begins a tough non-conference schedule with a win on the road.

I'm kinda anxious to see the outcome of this game as we have both teams on our schedule this season but, from what I'm hearing Meigs is down from years past and Coal Grove should be able to take advantage of that for a easier than expected win.

Not real sure about this contest, has been close before. Should be another close one with the Hornets getting the win.

I know the Hornets have talent again this year, but I have heard from several Coal Grove people that say there is turmoil within the team and a lack of leadership and respect.

I guess this Friday is a great measuring stick to see how well they can together in the last few weeks.

Good luck to the Grove.

As a long time Meigs Fan I hate to say it. But unless Meigs Shows more than they did Friday Nite. this could get real ugly for Meigs. Meigs was missing a key starter and did get there starting TB knocked out for the year and the defence was not there at all. with all that said I would have to give the edge to CG.

Coal Grove by 2 TD,s

I think this one will be close. I think somebody needs to get a handle on some of these players. They are going to cost some penalty yardage just by watching the previews and also the Jamboree. I hope all teams well, but how about a little discipline.

Discipline is the same issue we had last year, but the coaching staff will not address it as long as they are winning, it will take a couple of losses for them to start getting the boys under control.

Grove plays a smart game and cuts the flags down they will win big, if they keep doing what they did last year and Meigs keeps it close.
