And U have a frosh on the team that big? I'm calling OHSAA!
The ones that break thru the lines should get credit. And they appreciate their line blocking for them. They get credit for it. It takes a team effort. Our running backs didn't do very good in this game. I think that it was just nerves. Wilks averages over 10 yards per carry. I'm not sure what Tylers average is. But it was the first game of the year give them a chance. If they had played the way that I know that they can, the score would have been alot different. Either way we'll take the win.

And for the one who said that any run over 20 yards shouldn't count, Your stupid! Why shouldn't it? Should we just make them stop running after 5 or 10 yards because you don't approve? They can't help it if they couldn't be stopped. I agree HOOT is the one who needs to move on. I SAY GO ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

However evidentially being from Ironton procludes me from being able to talk alot of trash without a suspension... but never fear everybody I will try my best to keep it interesting. Just gotta stay within the guidelines which I am now convinced states somewhere that if representing the Fighting Tigers you must tolerate all yang poppin off other fans soup coolers for if responding in any way that is then considered aggressive or even humurous in nature you WILL BE REPRIMANDED!  Funny because again I sure did read alot of stuff last year that could have been deemed offensive but then again it was from "other" fans right? :122249 Have to try and remember that I suppose. @ any rate I predicted the game would be 30-3 in Irontons favor and while the final was a far cry from that it was a win and a win is a win. Like I said, football is ofcourse a game of inches and whether you win by an inch or a mile it is a win, same with a loss and Wheelersburg made a great showing but yet and still as usual it was not enough. TIGERS WIN! Although it looks as if some have already forgotten that. Short memory Pirate fans, short memory.   GO TIGERS!
How ironic. For the last 6 years all the other posters have been calling this the "Ironton Board" and saying Ironton posters could say anything they wanted and if anybody said anything against them they would get harrassed and threatened.

Now comes BigCarlito crying from the other side of the table claiming that if you are from Ironton you get the short-sheet.
Some are great at giving opinions and criticisms but not too good at playing on the other side of the ball ... in other words, your offense is great but your defense stinks.

You might not want to discount the possibility that it is the individual doing the posting and not the school they represent that's the problem.

So, ya got reprimanded, huh? I think that is hilarious.
OH, me too...me too!!!

not so fast my friend. minus the one 73 yard run for Wilkes he was 7 carries for 11 yards.
and minus the one 51 yard run for Hager he was 3 carries for 12 yards..... not outstanding Yards Per Carry stats. so the "awesome" players apparently didn't do all that well all night long but only on a couple of plays so maybe the "ones that broke thru the lines" DO deserve the credit.

on the other hand, Schankweiler had 21 carries for 116 yards and Graf had 9 carries for 84 yards and neither had any LONG runs. only 3 players averaged more than 5+ YPC in the whole game... and they all ran behind Wheelersburg's line. so just maybe the "awesome" players were on Wheelersburgs offensive line.

except for two plays on the whole night, Ironton's speedsters were pretty well contained. a total of 10 carries for 23 yards behind Ironton's line.

I — Hager 51 yard run (pass failed)

THIRD QUARTER

I — Wilks 73 yard run (run failed)

WB — Shears 1 yard run (kick good)

INDIVIDUAL STATISTICS

Passing: Ironton — Tommy Waginger 0-3-1 0. Total 0-3-1 0. Wheelersburg, Alex Shears 4-9-0 84. Total 4-9-0 84.

Receiving — Wheelersburg, Brandon Schankweiler 2-28, Dakota Luster 1-32, Tommy Graf 1-24. Total 4-84.
RUSHING-Ironton: Brian Warner 14-58, Tres Wilks 8-84, Tyler Hager 3-60, Tommy Waginger 5-12, Brandon Leach 1-2; Wheelersburg: Brandon Schankweiler 21-88, Tommy Graf 9-58, Chase Workman 3-7, Alex Shears 9-7, Brett Hood 1-5.

RECEIVING-Ironton: None; Wheelersburg: Brandon Schankweiler 2-26, Tommy Graf 1-24, Dakota Luster 1-22.

MISSED FIELD GOALS: None.

Ummm just wondered why the difference in Shankweillers rushing stats? Yall BURGers would not be padding those stats now would ya?  Surely not? :122249  Just a question? BTW, if any of your other players have an average game this year you have excercised the laringitis/sore throat/ han nail excuse this week so be creative Pirate fans!!! LOL! Also check out the wheelersburg/oak hill thread it is not just me these #$%* get upset and start to tear up if ya even pick against em!  I'm starting to think it's hormonal Pirates. :122245

I see that my attempt at humor and sarcasm were met with the classic response on here. I support both teams {my nephew starts for the Burg and ive been watching Ironton for years} and was making a goofy reference to something said after the game and now im dumb. Cool....been dumb before. Peace and love to all Tiggers and Burgites. It was another good game by two outstanding football programs who hopefully will both move on to bigger and better things this year.

First off you graduated from high school like forever ago so the "cool" days are long gone killa, second your a "BURGer" so like me is equally unattainable but I tell ya what partner if ya ever visit Charleston I would love to have ya over for lessons. WELCOME TO THE WEST SIDE and buckle up friend, scioto county it is not. Yeah, you read the papers. Back to the difference in stats though, why ofcourse the Ironton report short changed the Wheelersburg kids because beating yall YET AGAIN and improving that overall mark to 15-5 on your home field could not possibly be enough could it? Just wish it was possible to see you guys in the playoffs so we could beat ya again. Ya know what gets me though, if and when we get beat I promise you there will never be an excuse because we just got beat. I will not be on hear playing the violoin saying if not for this and if that did not happen and our rb had a sore throat, I will say we got beat, bottom line.! BEAT! Ya know like wheelersburg did! Very good game though. 8) Burg24 Oak Hill 7
