Should be interesting to see this matchup. Glad its on radio in case I gotta work OT.

If Nel-York can stop Stevenson on those little passes in the flat it can win because that kid can flat-out fly. Gets those y-a-c yards.
I don't think N-Y will have to worry about Stevenson this game, but STC is very deep at running back.

Also (Steely Dan), Fort Frye is a member of the OVAC.

Anyone planning to attend the game should buy presale tickets because all tickets (even students) are $6 at the gate. STC has plenty of parking near and inside the stadium ($2) but get there early as traffic can get backed up. If you get there early, you can tailgate near the visitors stands.

STC looks forward to welcoming N-Y fans and hope both teams play well and that we have a well officiated game.

My Prediction:

Nelsonville-York = 28

St. Clairsville = 21

Buckeyes are gonna prove the doubters wrong tonight that they can compete with teams up north!!!! GOOO BUCKEYES!!!!

Another game day for another red devil victory!

There are still a lot of doubters out there not giving any respect to st.Clairsville. hopefully a win tonight will help show people the devils are for real this year!

I looked up the stadium on Google Earth, and if you need something to plug into your GPS, 128 S. Sugar St, St. Clairesville, OH 43950 should get you one driveway from the fair grounds entrance. :)

Good luck Bucks! Play well and stay injury free.

They won't back down but will still get beat. They'll be in OVAC country, not TVC (Totally different kind of ball played up there).
Whether you like it or not, FOS is correct. Look at what he said in a holistic sense, instead of looking through your TVC colored glasses, whichever color they might be. The only OVAC teams that I can recall the TVC playing are SOME of the PVC teams. And how has the TVC league done against them. Not very good.

Trimble vs. Beallsville in the late 70's
Wellston vs. Woodsfield in the mid 70's
Miller vs. Monroe Central in 1994 or 95
Fed Hock vs. Shenandoah, Caldwell, Monroe Central
Nelsonville York vs. Monroe Central
Trimble vs. River
Frontier vs. Alexander

These are the games that I can come up with off the top of my head. The Fort Frye games vs. the TVC, I am not sure if FF is part of the OVAC, I honestly don't remember. If they are, then there is a little success against the OVAC from the TVC.

Otherwise, all of the competitions I cited above are an "O-FER", except for the Frontier vs. Alex game from last week.

St. Clairsville will be a very tough test for the Buckeyes. I will be rooting for NY and the TVC, but I am not sure how much of a chance they have. But that is why the games are played.

FOS is right, like it or not.

Trimble beat Caldwell a couple of years ago in the playoffs. Just sayin.

FOS is right, like it or not.

I can't speak for everyone, but here is my issue.

1. Delivery: I think St. Clairsville wins tonight also. However, the same message garners a different reaction depending on the delivery. This is something I didn't figure out until my 20s, and FOS seems older than twenty. Yet, his posts are drenched in condescension and mockery. He must be enjoying an internet persona or he actually believes he is the smartest guy in the room. Though, a note, one of my favorite professors seems passive, subtle, kind, and modest. I looked him up, and found he has lived continuously on the "Best Lawyers in America" list for 40 years, is a composer, a concert pianist, and speaks five languages fluently. I never would have guessed any of this if not for my research. He didn't feel the need to remind his underlings of his genius. That is the mark of true intelligence: the ability to express your thoughts and ideas to any crowd, at their level, and without the reminder that you hold a higher intellect. Steely, it doesn't appear that your post has caused significant outrage. Delivery?

2. One-Dimensional: When the subject is a TVC school, or other "deep in the heart of SEO" school, FOS adds nothing but reminders to fans, players, and parents of their lack of success outside of the area. I'm fairly certain the posters don't need reminders. Just because fans (short for fanatics) bounce back from failure and have hope in their teams, doesn't make them stupid. They are fans. They rebound. They hope. Is there ever any analysis outside of conference v. conference or geography v. geography from FOS? Outside of NY's recent playoff history, no.

Speaking of playoff history, FOS loves to bring up the losses, and attempts to use those losses to discredit NY's success. First, that's really a quality way to post on a high school sports forum. Second, NY has made five playoff appearances under Boston Jr.. They lost to Monroe Central, on the road, in a quality football game. They were blown out, on the road, by Amanda Clearcreek. They were blown out by Columbus Academy at home. They lost a thriller to East Knox on the road, and they lost a thriller to Liberty Union, who subsequently lost in the final four. Of the five appearances, I see two blowouts and three games decided by a single possession. Thus, more often than not, NY is on par with the other typical D5 playoff teams. However, FOS loves to ignore NY's positives, focus on the negatives, and use them to belittle 14-18 year old kids' success. What a genius, and it is truly unbelievable that he is not well-liked on this forum.

Oh, and I thought he picked NY to be 8-2 or 7-3 with the sure losses coming against Newark Catholic and Bishop Ready. St. Clairsville was his wildcard, though I suspect that changed once his sure-thing Ready flopped?

I agree wholeheartedly.

FOS is such a addict to posting negative comments about young atheletes that he will even risk his current employment to get a fix.
In MY opinion he needs a massive dose of maturity!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^^^^ I have never bashed any kids on any of my posts. A school district and some of their "fanatics" maybe more than a few times when they think the world of "sports" revolves around them and their school only. Remember, these are just my opinions. Anyway 8-2, 7-3 is still looking very good for the Bucks. Have a great football friday night !!!!!

LOVE THE NELSONVILLE YORK TEAM AND COMMUNITY... Total class act to our fighting tigers of Ironton. Hope they can pull off a victory against st c.
BUT, definitely school size, strength of schedule, and experience as of the past few years, leans towards the st clairsville crew...

keep on keeping on buckeyes.
